My college experience

College is good. Though you will have a hectic schedule and you will busy with academics though they won't be of much importance in the long run. 75% attendance is important. Although there have been excellent students here and also now. You have to make your own efforts to have what you want.

Honestly speaking, I couldn't get into good government college.AKTU was my last resort. But through internet I got to know few colleges of AKTU are good enough and Ajay Kumar Garg was one of them. It was first on my preference list. And I got into it. Given my merit and score, I am very happy and satisfied with my college.

Well the course curriculum is good. My friend told me that the syllabus and subjects in the branches which we have in common with IITs, is almost same. Though this college believes in rigorous work and classes run 5 days a week 7 hours average a day. Though it varies branch to branch, year to year. One thing that student face here is that we don't easily get NOC for doing internships. Else, everything is normal like you will have internal scoring at the end of semester based on your attendance, three exams that you give in a semester and also practicals.

The system here regarding internship is nil. No organisation or whatever. No, nothing. We have various labs like the FAB lab, NI instruments, KUKA robotics where you can undergo training and all. These are world class facilities. If you enter these labs, you won't be able to make out the difference between them and IITs. They are well equipped. Though students here do I internships from home kind because you won't get leave either. Internships are here an issue. Though for training purposes we have excellent facilities.

Placement is like the regular ones. Main companies for electronics department here are only Bosch and Infosys. Though others come too, not worth mentioning. Bosch offers 4-5 lacs. Infosys offers 7 lacs and 4 lacs. CSE/IT have good placements here. Almost everyone gets somewhere or the other. Average package here is 3 lacs about. But students here have faired well in off campus placements. One senior has gone as high has 47 lacs. It's upto whether you want to do or not.

There are no fests in our college. Small events are organised by the societies in our college itself that's it. Sports fest is there of course, nothing like that of a DJ night. We have freshers and farewell, that's what we count as events. No singer or star or celebrity is ever invited to our college. It has been rather dull for a while.

Fee is feasible for some, expensive for some. College fees is 1.2 lacs and hostel fees is about 90k- 1 lac. Fee waiver is awarded by the university for students with reservations and the ones with poor financial conditions. As much as fifty percent of the tution fees is waived off.

Our college doesn't offer any such but yes if you are a good student then you can avail scholarships to do training at the various facilities available in the college.

Campus life is good. Gender ratio is fair enough. There are less girls then boys but not such that one would notice. Never a girl would have felt that she's alone in a class full of boys. Security is very tight. Guards are stationed at every entrance and exit 24x7. There's not much extracurricular activities here. Except for the societies organising events related to singing, debates, robotics, paper presentation. There's no cultural or technical fest as such. Labs here are excellent where you can undergo training by paying the fees. These labs are world class facilities. We have FAB lab, Kuka robotics and others.

Hostel and mess facility is excellent. There are single , double and three seater rooms. Mess is monitored by a nutritionist. College is very particular regarding the cleanliness. We are even fined for littering around. Washrooms are spacious and clean. One thing good about college is the cleanliness. Mess food here is not like the ones you hear joke about. Hostel fees is very high and hence the good is also according to that. There's no AC but you can install Coolers. There is also a TV room and a gym in all the hostels. Wardens are very helpful. And there's a hospital adjacent to hostel.Hospital belongs to our college only. Overall, hostel facility is excellent here.

There's no alumni network as such anybody here is aware of although there are meme pages on Instagram about our college made by our seniors.????

There's one exam at regular intervals . Three exams in a semester. Then we have the nain exam conducted by the university itself. Final percentage is calculated by totalling externals and internals. Internals is made up of the three exams we give during the semester, attendance , teacher's assessment. You should keep an aggregate of above 75, so that you can sit in all the placement drives of the companies.

I got admission into the college by giving entrance exam UPSEE. I faired well and had a rank of 9500. Then I underwent online counselling. In that we have to make payment for it which is adjusted into college fees later on. If you don't take admission, your fees is returned. Although they cut some amount incurred during counselling. I filled my preference according to which branch I want in which college. There are 5 rounds of counselling. I got this college in first round. I sat for second round bit it did not upgrade and hence o freezed my seat. That was foolish on my part. Had I sat in other two rounds I would have ended up in CSE which I wanted to. Nevertheless, I joined this college and I'm happy about it.

The faculty of our college is hardworking and very honest. Tha5 I have noticed. They will force you to sit in class and study. Some teachers are so dedicated that they even keep sending ppts, pdfs and notes the day before exam. Don't give them a reason to piss off and they will comply with you.
