Course Curriculum Overview

4

Bsc hons.agriculture not only gives the theoretical understanding of 64 diverse courses but also encourages research oriented mindset, start-up culture and competitiveness among students. In RLBCAU, periodic tests in the form of quizzes, midterm and endterm examinations are conducted .There is a gap of 3-4 weeks between each of the examinations. RLBCAU gives good results every year in AIEEA ICAR PG /JRF, UPSC,NABARD , IFFCO, IBPS AFO, CAT, XAT, etc.Library is 12 hours opened, provides all the reading resources including books, magazines, newspapers, research papers, e-resources, etc. A computer lab is also available with many computer systems. Periodic extra-curricular events are organised for students like kisan mela, inter-college sports , cultural fests, etc. Teachers usually give lectures in form of ppt on smart boards in english language which is not effective for hindi medium students. Teachers should use both hindi and english as teaching medium.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are many companies visiting our university for offering internship opportunities. The number of the companies approaching RLBCAU are increasing at a rapid rate with each passing year .Companies like Dhanuka agritech, Parmarth, HDFC bank, srijan, Taragram, Bajaj capital, Rise jhansi incubation centre, Happy pot, abrosaa visited this year offering internships in marketing, sales, processing, digital marketing, content writing, agricultural extension, etc. The average stipend offered by these companies is ?15000-?20000. Basically students are expected to help in the TOT (Transfer of Technology)of agricultural input from agri-tech companies to farmers by helping them understand it's benefits and usefulness. Students act as extension agents making the farmers understand the importance of a particular technology. For interns involved in processing firms, they undertake supervisor and manager role for smooth conduction of all activities. Students also organize workshops .

Fees and Financial Aid

Every year the newly enrolled students will experience a hike of around ?1400 in the semester fees of bsc degree in RLBCAU compared to previous batches.Since RLBCAU falls under the category of INI,it offers students to pursue their bsc degree at a minimal affordable price. Each semester, we pay only ?7400 which includes the cost of tution fee and hostels fees.Medical assistance is free inside the campus. . ?6000 was paid as a security money initially which is fully refundable. Students need to pay ?2600 for mess every month as there is private mess in all the hostels Students get NTS(National Talent Scholarship)-?3000 per month if they successful get 7+ OGPA in each semester. Students appear for internships in the final year in companies as DHANUKA, WILLOWOOD, Happy Pot, abrosaa, Manupra foods, terra agro biotech pvt ltd.,etc as marketing and managing interns and get stipend around 15-25k per month and certificate. Students also take responsibilities of MR, executive team of SPARSH.

Campus Life

4.5

Anually, Kisan mela is organised in February. Foundation day of RLBCAU occurs on 5th march every year. Many festivals as Holi, Diwali, Navratri, Ganesh chaturthi, Christmas, Eid, Ramadan are celebrated every year. 19th November is commemorated as the birth anniversary of Rani Lakshmi Bai . Central Library has diverse range of academic and competitive books , research papers , journals , magazines and newspapers. Classrooms are spacious, air conditioned, with comfortable chairs and tables for class strength of 50-60 students. Smart board along with podium, mic, and speaker is present. The classroom is under CCTV supervision 24×7. Sports grounds and indoor badminton court are provided. Yoga centre also runs. Dance and music classes run in the community hall for promoting extracurricular activities.Periodic competitions are held by different clubs under SPARSH as literary, sports and cultural clubs. Editorial team releases the university magazine and maintains social media handle.

Hostel Facilities

5

UG and PG students live in a three-seater room and two seater rooms respectively, which is provided with cupboards, beds, mattress, and pillows, tables, chairs and a balcony . A cooler is also provided with pipe for summers. Rooms are beautifully painted, well fournished, and properly maintained. Private mess run separately for girls and boys hostels. The charge is ?2600/month for both the hostels. The mess food is of standard quality and quantity. There are variety of food options considering taste of students from different states. Veg and non-veg both meals are cooked. Hostels are alloted during registeration in first year itself. There is no seperate charge for hostel. All hostel facilities like lift, geysers, mess hall, cycle stands, open gyms, study halls, badminton courts are provided free. All the hostel charges are included in the college registeration fee i.e, ?7400 , that we pay every semester. No i didn't rented any room or pg as accommodation provided by the RLBCAU.

Admission

I had got admission in bsc.hons agriculture in RLBCAU through ICAR UG exam. Applicants must have a degree of 10+2 or equivalent from recognized board in science stream (PCB/PCM/PCMB/ABC). But now, the students need to appear for CUET . Candidates from General and UPS categories must fall within top 50 percentile, while the candidates belonging to SC/ST/pwd categories must secure a minimum of 40 percentile marks to be selected for admission. You can find the application form and other related details on exams.nta.ac.in/CUET-UG/ . SC/ST can secure the admission at very low marks compared to General category students. Every year, NTA conducts CUET-UG exam once in may. NTA should conduct seperate ICAR UG exam for UG admission in SAUs and CAUs. There should be GDPI for the candidates taking admission in RLBCAU for personality and behavior check. University should not allow notorious students as they pollute the campus environment.

Faculty

5

Faculty-to-student ratio is high as the student strength is low compared to other ICAR institutions. Thus, it offers personal mentoring of each of the students in the classroom. Students can approach the professors anytime between 10am-5 pm. Faculties are friendly and have a positive teaching style. Most of the faculties use smart board for lecture presentation using audio, video and graphic representation for easy understanding of the core concepts. Sometimes they may use white boards for explaining the concepts in a better way . The lectures are interactive, and engaging . Each theory class is of 1 hour, and practical class is of 2 hours. Professors allow note making during the class and they encourage book reading for permanent memorization of the topics. Practical classes are often taken on crop cafeteria , vegetable cafeteria or Arboretum. Sometimes, students are also take for trips in the practical class to visit places relevant to the courses.

Other Applied Colleges

Jamia Millia Islamia University-[JMI] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Biotechnology)

As it had very limited scope that i could explore. Comparatively, Bsc. Hons agriculture is a four year long professional degree course which offers wide range of opportunities to students interested in research field, management studies, and banking secto

Placement Experience:

The placements for the B.Sc Agriculture course at Invertis University are growing but may not be very high compared to technical courses. Some companies visit the campus for agriculture-related roles such as agri-input companies, seed companies, fertilizer companies, and marketing positions. Students with good communication and technical knowledge usually get good opportunities. However, not every student may get a direct campus placement.

Students get placed in starting of 4th year that is 7th semester. The companies that often visit are pradhan co.pvt.ltd, seed companies and drone companies also companies like Nestle and britannia visit for placements. Highest ctc in 2025 was 19LPA and the avg was 7.5 LPA these data are also available on nirf site. Nearly 30% students get placed because remaining prefer higher studies over placement, those who are financially weak consider placement. My plans are different, I'm preparing for CAT and want to persue mba in agribusiness management from iim ahmedabad or iim lucknow.
