What Students Say
Likes
- Opened doors to be a part of a lot of communities, clubs (within college and outside of college) , courses and events where collaboration, learning and networking was possible
- The department used to keep us updated on some offcampus opportunities whenever they came across any
- Recently, collaboration spaces have been built in the college to let students become more creative and enable teamwork for learning and development
Dislikes
- Placement services need little improvement. Last time we were recruited for internship at a company, we had to struggle a lot in the college to handle our attendance since we wouldn't be able to attend the college
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose CSE. The course coordinators sit together and analyse relevance of the course after every semester before including it for the next batch in their next semester. Wherein they also consider the relevance of various concepts within each course and modify it accordingly. The core subjects always remain relevant to the domain. We have mid-term and semester exams. They lie in the medium-hard level and assess our ability of comprehension, problem-solving and writing skills. Definitely its impossible to teach all the concepts of the job to students but I feel they are making sure the bare minimum, foundations and essential concepts are being taught to students.
Internships Opportunities
Companies that offered internship with stipend: ADP, RealPage, Vodafone, OC Tanner Some other companies offered internships with no stipend but trained students during the same in essential technologies
Placement Experience
Companies start arriving after end of 3rd year. And continue upto end of 4th year. Some companies that visited during my coursework were ADP, AssetSense, Accenture, RealPage, UST, CtrlS, BlueSapphire, etc. Most were selected for internships and some from them got full time offers. Average package lies in range 3-6LPA. Maximum was 12LPA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee was 1,02,000 for me when i joined in 2020. Throughout ur degree the fee remains the same, it changes for every batch. Students who perform well in academics received 5k-1k scholarship from the college and are allowed to take additonal books from the library for study. JNTU fee is arounf 3-5k. Then we pay 1800 for every semester exam. Government provides scholarship for EBC or some reserved categories who apply for it. I bagged an internship at ADP Private limited on campus, the pay was 20k per month. I also received a full time offer fr 6LPA. But the joining letter is yet to arrive.
Campus Life
We have a lot of tech fests and cultural fests. Bhaswara,VIBGYOR, Vaisheshika, etc where students can take part in technical, sports and cultural events to compete, learn and win prizes. Course related books are widely available, journals are available. Students are encouraged to build prototypes, publish papers. Classrooms are spacious. Labs are 95% good. Need little improvement. Students can play badminton, football, volleyball, cricket, chess, table-tennis, etc. Recently spaces for the same were built. Students run technical clubs where they collaborate , learn together and try to get opportunities to college. we have college faculties guiding them at times.
Admission
I applied via EAMCET. I secured 12K rank. The cutoff is around 13k for females and around 12k for males of general category and varies heavily for other reserved categories (can go over 70k rank cutoff for SC/ST). The admission process was smooth. No issues. Reserved students can even get full reimbursement of fee from Government by applying for it.
Faculty
Most of the faculty have a good experience in teaching and the subject. They help us with understanding concepts well and help us with notes. Some even include Project Based Learning in subjects where practicals help better understand the subject. Classroom is an open space. We are allowed to raise questions, clarify points and reiterate concepts. We are sometimes asked to take up seminars on the subject related concepts which is quite helpful. We have english professional communication skills subjects once every year, which also helps us polish our professional interpersonal skills.
