Where hardwork is valued

It a boon for those who remains focused and work hard, and a bane for those who are fickled by the aura of the college.

Initially, I was very confused about which college I wanted to choose. Then one fine day, my father and I went to Graphic Era Hill University for gathering general information about the college curriculum, fee structure, transport facility etc. There was a career counselor also who helped me and guided me regarding the field that I want to choose. Hence, I choose GEHU to pursue BCA.

The course curriculum consists of different level of knowledge ranging form fundamental aspects to difficult level. There are total of 5 Units that needs to be covered each semester in all the subjects, apart from this assignments, projects and term work is given to add on to the extra knowledge of the students.

The college does not provide any internship on its own although, it does support students to do an internship during summer or winter breaks. Specially, the final year students.

The major focus of the college is in IT sector therefore, mainly the IT giants like TCS, Infosys, Wipro etc visits the college for recruitment drive. Also, some of the core companies from Mechanical and Electrical also come to hire the students. Most of the students get placed in a reputed company. Last year almost all the students of BCA and B.sc IT were placed in renowned IT companies.The average package received by a student is approximately between 3-6Lacs/annum. Annual packages offered to some talented students were 22Lcs/annum, 18Lcs/annum and more.

Every now and then there are different events going on in the college. Events related to coding, gaming, sports activities, puzzles, treasure huts, talent shows etc takes place frequently in the college. An equal and fair opportunity is given to the talented person to outshine. Grafest is one of the most popular event organized by Grpahic Era followed by many Fashion and cultural shows.

The fee for the current year has been hiked by 15-20% but keeping the notes of facilities, resources and teachers provided by the college the fee structure is feasible. The total fee for some of the courses is as follows: MBA: ?408,380 , Btech ?757,260, BA(mass communication):?282,320, BCA, B.com, Bsc IT: ?282,320 and BA (physics and maths): ?282,320 An amount close to 3-5 thousand is taken as security and is refundable once you have completed the course. The fee for Uniform is taken additionally which is approx 10 thousand.

There is no such scholarship or loan facility available for students. No exam is organized by the college to offer any scholarship to the students.

The campus life pretty much depends on the way you choose to live it. There are students from different regions and a vast diversity is seen but the decorum of the college is well maintained. There is gender equality and a fair chance is given to all irrespective of gender, caste, and creed. Also, various cultural events are organized to break any kind of caste or gender wall.

The average fee of hostel is approx INR80000 per year and then the additional fee for laundry etc. The rooms are available in a share of 2-3 people per room. The mess food consists of variety of food and the taste is also fine. Right amount of nutrients are maintained in the diet given to students. For students, living in PGs montly rent is approx 2-3 thousand in a shared room and for single room it is about 5 thousand. Apart from this, the mess expense is about 2-3 thousand per month.

Well! there is no such alumni network with the senior students. Infact, we hardly ever interacted with anyone. Though, once in a year, the alumni meet takes place where the alumni are invited and are awarded with medals.

The exam structure is good and at a time period of proper gaps. First, mid semesters takes place and after that the final exams. The schedule for Mid semesters is a little hectic as 2 exams takes place in a day whereas, for final exams there is proper preparatory leaves given. The practical exams takes place accordingly, during mid semesters practical exams are conducted during college hours(lab timing) and for end semester a schedule is given prior 2 weeks before the commencement of exams.

In the month of May I came to know about the admission procedure of GEHU. As the mode of admission is direct here, so I came with my Father along with my documents and marksheets and after verification and meeting the eligibility criteria I was qualified for the admission. I filled the application form and got the Challan via which the fee was to be paid. The admission procedure is quite simple and easy.

The faculty is highly qualified and trained in their respective domains. Faculty for Btech is from IITs also but faculty from courses like BCA, Bsc IT is not much experienced but teaches well. Apart from this, the faculty-student interaction is very good and healthy. Also, they are supportive and helpful throughout.
