Insight of SIRT Bhopal

Recently a sports complex is built in college campus which will provide sports opportunities to the students of college. The college management is very slow and poor. So it needs to be improved. The course structure needs updation.

I have given JEE Main exam and scored 55 marks. Then I filled college counseling form and according to my marks SIRT College is allotted to me. So I got admission directly through counseling process and no further interview process is done.

Course curriculum and structure is decided by the RGPV University and all the colleges affiliated to this University follows the same course structure. The course structure is concept based and not focus on research. The course structure is too old and needs to be updated.

Yes, internship is provided to the students of 3rd year but the internship is unpaid. Industrial and corporate visits are also done. Bhel, bendjoints, netlinks are some of the visits we have attended. Students get industry exposure related to their respective streams.

Companies that comes for recruiting are TCS, Ibm, adacel, byju's, capgemini, cognizant Infosys, netlink etc. The selection is wholly based on the caliber and potential of the student. And not on the college name sake. Placement percentage varies from 30-40%. But not more than that. This year the placement scenario was poor with TCS selecting only 2 students. Other than that many students were selected by Amazon in open placement drives. Average package is 1-4 Lacs and maximum goes up to 4-5 Lacs

Sagar utsav and technosaga are the cultural and technical events respectively that we organize. Apart from that food carnival, talk shows, and various other exposure sessions are also organized. Sagar Utsav is the biggest cultural event of the college. College also takes part and conduct Smart India Hackathon which is a good initiative of government.

If you get admission directly from counseling procedure then your fees will be 35000 per semester as issued by the government. If you take admission through management quota then fees will be very expensive. There is also a TFW quota for students who have scored good marks in JEE main. The fees of TFW is 20000 per year.

Scholarship is provided to the students belongs to ST, SC, and OBC by the government. The scholarship amount is nearly 30000 per year. Minority scholarship is also provided to the students belongs to the minority communities. I don't have any knowledge of loan facility.

The gender ratio is 60:40 (60% boys and 40% girls). The environment of college is quite disciplined. Ragging is strictly prohibited in the college. There are seperate departments of freshers and seniors and seniors are not allowed in the freshers department. Workshops are conducted regularly in the college auditorium.

The hostel rooms are provided with a beds, cupboards, and a study table. Some of the rooms are provided with AC and some are non-ac. Some of the rooms are on sharing basis and some are individual. AC rooms charge is more than the non AC rooms. There is separate hostel for boys and girls. The mess is provided in the respective buildings.

Some of the seniors are nice and helpful. Alumni meet is organised in the college once in three years in which all the alumnus of last three years are invited or interaction.

Two exams are conducted at college level every semester i.e. mid-sem exams and PUT exams. PUT exams are conducted before the University exams and mid-sem are conducted between the semester. Labs are daily of different subjects. Each day new subject lab is there.

I have just filled the online college counseling form from the mponline portal and according to my marks and choice filling, they have alloted me SIRT College. Then I went to college and shown them admission letter and submitted all the documents like marksheets, transfer certificate, etc in the admission cell of the college. Finally I got the admission.

Teachers are knowledgeable and friendly. A few of them are really very supportive and encourage ideas and events proposed by students. We also have a regular Feedback sessions for faculty and any kind of complain is rectified very soon. Smartclass is also made available for advanced and better understanding of subjects. Student to faculty ratio is 60:1.
