Likes
- The faculty staff are supportive and helping. The teachers also provide Quality notes and are very cooperative during Exams.
- The campus has an amazing library. They have like two sitting areas. Both the areas are comfortable for studying or just reading the books. There are many books available from different genre. They also have many academic books.
- The campus is pretty nice and Clean. It has a lot greenery and they also took care of the overall campus.
Dislikes
- Overall Infrastructure. Since the College building is qyite old, the benches, chairs, blackboards even stairs are damaged. Most of the Classrooms does not even have a fan. Even Our classroom has the same problem.
- The Department do not give prior notice before any Exams or Internals. No official notices are posted beforehand . They also cancel exams Even after giving us the Exam schedule.
Course Curriculum Overview
Msc in Zoology includes a broad spectrum of topics related to Animal Biology. I choose fisheries as my specialization in my second year. There are many interesting topics in all the semesters. We also have a field study/survey in 3rd semester. I think they should also include endocrinology, genetics, and other specializations in the department. The zoology department in this college has only Entomology and Fisheries available as a specialization. Even though the overall course curriculum has many choices still the department restricts it by giving just two options. It eventually minimizes future opportunities.
Placement Experience
There are no placement programmes as such. They do put notices on board but it is either for UG students or for MBA students. There are no placements drives for Zoology students. They also don't encourage students for internships.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure of this college for the course of Msc in Zoology is 37400 per year and they also take examination fees, practical fees, dissection specimen amount, and field study amount which was approximately 19000 ( in 3rd semester) depending upon the area. I have not taken any scholarship. I don't even know about any scholarship program. They also don't have any campus employment programs or anything as such.
Campus Life
The college has some annual and technical festivals. The Christmas celebration is one of them. Its celebration and its event start a few weeks before Christmas. There are many books available in the library including both reading (of different genres)and academic books.
Admission
The have a smooth admission procedure. There are no entrance test. The admission is done on the basis of merit and seat availability.The minimum percentage required is 55%.Application forms are availabke on their official websites and at college office.
Faculty
The faculty members are cooperative and supportive. Some of them are good They have a negative attitude. But the majority of the faculty members are helping. They also provide quality notes and guide them even during exams.
