Likes
- The faculty is good and cooperative. Apart from teaching the faculty also focuses on the cultural , ethical and behavioral development. The professors focus on teaching as well as fun so not to make a lecture boring.
- The campus area is quite spacious , large around 8.08 acre-area. The campus provides greenary. Plants are planted in the campus to provide mesmerizing view to eyes. The college has a basement to play various games such as table tennis.
- There are five interlocked blocks withing the campus having lifts. There is a big amphitheatre and one canteen. There is one Nescafe tea-coffee shop and another shop selling ice cream, cold drinks, chips, etc.
Dislikes
- The washroom is very bad. Some of the toilet seats are broken or in some of the toilets, there are no latch on the doors of toilets. Even there is no handwash dispenser in the washroom.
- The lift is very small and not spacious. The college doesn't have Air conditioners in classrooms
- The placement rate is very low. The average is of 2-3 lpa. The companies don't visit the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Professional Studies(formerly Dr. Akhilesh Das Gupta Institute of Technology and Management) is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprasth University. It follows the curriculum issued by IPU. The curriculum is quite interactive , not only study , it also focuses on overall skill develpment. But the professors for teaching some subjects are lazy. The subjects that are practical like programming need enthusiastic and practical teachers.The college conducts Three examination within one semester , first mid-semester and second sessional (or sometime it is called as mid-semester 2) and then final semester examinations. The difficulty level is not that high, it is moderate. Teachers do provide Syllabus material for preparation.
Internships Opportunities
The hiring companies are Capgemini, TCS, INFOSYS, JustDial, Cognizant, Wipro, etc. These companies offer internships but not oftenly. The summer internship programs are also likely to held. But not that often.
Fees and Financial Aid
The first year fees for session (2023-2027) is 1,44,000 INR. there is no tution fee increase fee policy. The companies hardly visit our college for placements. there are some summer internship programs that run in our college for second year students onwards. The book-bank facilities is also available.
Campus Life
The college organizes the fests in March, typically. There are other theme fests, and sports fests also. The arrangements are not so up to mark but okay at least they arrange the stuff. The library issues the book and also the book-bank facility is their, wide range of books, novels, etc are available. There are smart rooms in the college. The college has both whiteboards and greenboards in different classrooms. The college offers different sports opportunities. There is a wide variety of Clubs and Societies in the college, fashion society, sports club, dance society, etc. There is an equal focus on sports and extra-curricular activities and faculty is supportive in that.
Admission
Eligibility- 10+2 The student must have given JEE Mains. Admission will take place based on rankings, and percentile in JEE Mains. cutoffs- 40% The higher the percentile, the higher the branch you get. The lower the percentile lower the branch you get. The students have to apply for application for admission through the main ipu site ipu.ac.in The students have to pay a fixed amount for the application process. Then they have to do a Choice filling of the college they want. According to their rank, they are allowed to the seats. Once the seat is allotted, they have to pay a fixed amount (in my time it was 60,000 INR as a University Fee) and the rest amount to the college through demand draft, NEFT. During the admission process, they ask you for the submission of Class 10 and 12 official marksheets, migration certificates, and medical certificates. They keep it with themselves till the first year and give you after that.
Faculty
The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:60. Some professors are beyond appreciation. They teach so well in an interactive and fun-engaging way. Whereas some of the professors are procrastinate teaching. In my experience, no teacher has ever denied from why we are asking questions. The problem is some teachers due to time contraints aren't able to complete their course syllabus withing the time period. Also, teachers here never give that much burden of assignments except few(that's obvious).
