- Academic schedule is pretty chill..not hectic
- Hostel is good and well maintained..ragging is not there at all
- Teachers are cool..they won't give much stress in terms of attendance and marks
Dislikes
- Hostel food is decent..but manageable...
- North campus is little far from the city..and the campus is not so great..they should build more buildings and develop the infrastructure in North campus
- Campus vibe is not good..they don't care abt that
Course Curriculum Overview
Information science mainly focuses on software part of cs.. we have more coding subjects compared to cse.. our college is affiliated to vtu so it follows vtu's curriculum.. syllabus is really good and main subjects like DSA,OS,OOPS,ADA,DBMS etc starts from 2nd year
Internships Opportunities
I don't have much idea about it as internships start from 3rd year (in still in 2nd year)..but from what I have heard there are good opportunities provided here and Internships are mandatory in the final year
Placement Experience
from 5th semester students are eligible to sit in placements around 70-80 IT companies visit for cse/ise etc..and around 250 offers were made for these 2 branches.. Many companies visit for core branches like ece,eee,mech too and many offers are made..so overall around 250 companies visit NIE highest package is 54lpa and average is 8lpa 90% placement rate for cse/ise my plan is to get placed for a good company
Fees and Financial Aid
I got admitted through kcet so for our batch the fee was 98k. My total fee per year would be 98k+ 1,25,000 for hostel fee. Many scholarships are available like sc/st, educational scholarships etc.. I'm still in 2nd year so I don't hv much idea..but there's a start up cell in the campus where many students work there..and there are many clubs
Campus Life
thechNIEks is the annual college fest which is held during April/may Many clubs organize various events which is fun and helps in connecting with people and improves knowledge Library is very good and all type of books are available..and we can issue the books for a certain amount of time sports is good..many opportunities are there extracurricular activities are also good..there's a seperate club for it
Hostel Facilities
hostel is well maintained and clean 3 sharing room for boys study lamp,table,bed,chair,and a cupboard is provided hostel registration is done in hostel itself..there's a seperate office food is decent
Admission
45% minimum marks in 12th we can find in college website I got reservation through SC quota and rural quota I got admitted through kcet.. generally cutoff would be 5k for cs (general) and 8k for ise admission is done in office..no issues there. Admission process takes place smoothly
Faculty
Many PhD holders are there and some really good faculties are available..at the same time some faculties are not good..so overall it is mixed..but some senior faculties have good knowledge and teach very well
