BMSIT: Excellence in academics, Infrastructure and Campus Life

There was a very recent change in the curriculum; subjects of less importance were simply removed to make more time for the other subjects every week. Frequent meetings are held with the students to understand whether a subject is helping them or not and that gives us a fresh take every single time. The curriculum right now is very in sync with the career demands that the students will have to provide. Small changes are made every now and then since even the job market and placement statistics keep changing.

A lot of internships are offered at our college but they're applicable more to students in 4th semester and since I am just a first-year student, I have very minimal experience in this aspect. However, we get emails every month about internship offers that we could apply for. We even have a lot of workshops and educational programs that we attend with compensated attendance. The roles offered are very basic and student-levelled and it's mostly a learning platform.

students become eligible for placements from 6th semester itself. A lot of companies come to the college to recruit students for their companies and a lot of students go for off-campus interviews and selections as well. A lot of packages are offered with the average offer being 18-20LPA. Some of the companies that come to our campus every year for placements are Amazon, Wipro, Samsung, IBM etc. The percentage of students being placed fluctuates every year since it also depends on the job market but easily 40% of the students who sit for placements, get placed. Most of the placed students start working in the 7th sem itself as a part-time employee and a lot of students do major internships to boost their portfolio as well.

The courses at BMSIT are very affordable compared to other colleges especially if you enter on merit basis. Merit-based seats are given a lot of importance in the college and it is very well recognized as well. As for management seats, the prices are reasonable depending on the course. Yes, it is a little on the expensive side of things but it's worth it because of the opportunities, facilities, and guidance provided for the students catering to their specific academic and non-academic needs.

The campus life, as mentioned earlier, is very vibrant. There are frequent fests held every few months. The main annual fest of BMSIT takes place every year in June and it's called Utsaha Vaibhava. It includes a motor show, a lot of cultural and technical activities, many side events, stalls, and concerts with celebrity guest appearances. The library is filled with a lot of helpful material for every subject and we have a digital library where you can access material online as well as check the status of whether a particular book is available or not. The classrooms are managed well and are each equipped with a smartboard and speaker system which helps a lot in making presentations. There are a en number of clubs students can join based on their interests and they even provide AICTE points which boost a student's portfolio.

The BMSIT official website makes the application process very easy and you can apply through very user-friendly forms the admission staff is helpful and patient with your queries as well. There are different quotas of admission such as CET, COMEDK, and management and if you're eligible for it you'll be informed in the counseling sessions which happen in person. The exams are held very frequently since each semester lasts 4-5 months (2 sets of internal exams and one set of final exams) but they're very inclusive of the material circulated by the teachers or the lectures given in classes.

The faculty of BMSIT is incredibly helpful. They are always ready to help and are almost always available. In most cases, every teacher is just a phone call away and they can always be reached on WhatsApp for quick responses. Communication between the students and teachers is very much prioritized and is considered time-sensitive. The faculty is very knowledgable in their streams and know how to handle multiple students at once and even take different approaches towards the same topic to help students understand concepts better.
