Course Curriculum Overview
the curriculum is actually pretty good. i compared it with other university's curriculum and it actually turned out to be pretty standard. for example, in economics, we have micro and macro and we learn about both economics in india and economics out in the world. we learn about indian ecomists and theories as well as world renowned economists and their theories as well
Internships Opportunities
i havent really had any intership offers or anything. there was one but it was in delhi and my parents werent really okay with it as we had to find accommodation on our own. i did my internship outside college through one of my dads colleagues so i havent really had any internship oppurtunities within the college.
Placement Experience
we do have placements but just 1 or 2 get selected from my course and its not even related to our course. you have to learn a new skill to get placed. personally, im gonna do my masters so i can upgrade my career options. but in this course the placement options are pretty limited. people from outside do come in and give us talks about placements and stuff but to no avail though.
Fees and Financial Aid
ive appied for the nri quota, so i paid more than other students did. but, they do have special care for economically disadvantaged students. i do not know the details of it, but one of my friends doesnt have a stable family income and he gets free food from college. he benefits alot from it and the food is pretty standard too! i think he also gets a discounted place to live in. personally, i think thats a really good initiative.
Campus Life
the infrastructure, i feel like they couldve done MUCH better. its super crowded and theres a lack of so many things. they should provide better chairs for students. there are projectors in every class but they do not work all the time. theres always technical issues and and the sound system, you have to go tell the ipm in advance and borrow their speaker for that class. if a teacher wants to play a video in class, they have to plan it in advance.
Admission
my admission process was extremely smooth. i got in even before i finished my boards. i had an online entrance test because of covid. and even my interviews were online. everything was smooth. one setback is that they didnt tell us we needed to reserve the hostel much earlier to be able to get a seat. my parents are abroad and i feel like they wouldve felt more secure(my safety) if i could get into the college hostel.
Faculty
when it comes to teaching, most professors are well qualified. they make it a point to ensure your learning something in class, most of them are open to feedback about new learning methods and what theyre upto. sometimes, they even come up with innovative ways to take class. my class size is actually pretty huge, we are a class of 90. but it doesnt seem that way. infrastructure wise, i feel like they couldve done much better. we literally have wooden benches without a backrest for chairs and its very uncomfortable and painful to sit in them for long hours. the campus is also extremely over crowded. during breaktimes, the washrooms are always full and so are the cafeterias. the teacher student ration is fine though. we have appropriate class hours and the teachers are always present.
