Amrita University in a Nutshell

The curriculum is upto date. They offer courses like machine learning and python related courses as standard. Deep learning, Image recognition, AI are offered as electives. More emphasis can be put on project development and real world applications. Exams are really difficult. There will be internal evaluations will be conducted once every 3 weeks.

Internships are available from 3rd year. Many top companies visit the campus. It is totally based on merit. The procedure is just like other colleges. Stipend depends on the company. The average stipend for CSE will be around 40,000 per month.

Students can sit for placements from 7th sem that is 4th year. Almost all top companies from their respective fields visit the campus. Highest offer was 54 lakhs offered by Rubrik. Avg for CSE is around 12 lpa. 95% students get placed and some opt for higher studies. My plan is to get a job after graduating.

Tution fee will be standard for 4 years but hostel fees might be increased sometimes. Almost 10-20,000 can be increased at a time. Total cost of education comes to around 6.5-7 lakhs per year. Scholarships are provided based on your JEE/AEEE scores. There are 3 fee slabs - upto 3 lakhs can be deduced from fees based on the scholarships. There is no campus employement oppurtunity.

There are 2 fests. Annual tech fest is Anokha and cultural fest is Janmashtami celebration. Both are average nothing fancy. Library has collection of physical and digital books. Club culture is very bad. Extra curricular activities are almost none. There are very less student run clubs.

For boys, 1 room will be alloted for 4 students. Single rooms are only given to final year students. Mess food is average. Night cantines are open from 9-10pm. PG's are not in walkable distance. Cleanliness is good but some basic features are missing . Hot water service is not proper.

To get a seat in CSE through your jee score you must have 92percentile. This may increase as the demand for this college has increased exponentially. You can find all the details/forms in there website. Resevations are for NRI and Tamil Nadu students. AEEE exam is fairly easy. An average JEE aspirant can clear it easily. It is conducted twice per year.

The faculty to students ratio is good. Approximately its around 1:5. All the faculties are well versed with the subjects that they teach. Some are bad but that problem is with every college. The faculties are very encouraging. They encourage students to take up research projects under them. You can ask them questions at any time they will be ready to answer them. Professors are approachable and interact very well with students.
