Course Curriculum Overview
The new curriculum that is being implemented is the Competency Based Medical Education (CBME). It emphasizes medical ethics and professionalism.It includes more hand on clinical experience and patient interaction. Maintenance of proper records in log books both in academic and internship years.Encourages self directed learning. Its also comparable to international curriculum making it easier for students to have a familiar environment in overseas medical practice.
Internships Opportunities
The internship period starts from the 5th academic year. Each department will have postings: Surgery, Medicine, psychiatry, dermatology, orthopedics, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, community medicine, ENT, ophthalmology.
Fees and Financial Aid
The current tuition fees on the basis of govt. merit it 8L -12L per annum for MBBS course. For NRI Managment fees it upto 20L per annum for MBBS course. The stipend awarded for internship is minimum 10,000 Rs per month.
Campus Life
Each year the 3rd year students represents the student union. The union is completely autonomous and there is annual festivals and carnivals conducted by the union. There are events both regional and state level for students to showcase their extracurricular activities and there is marks awarded for them.
Admission
One should give NEET UG exam conducted by NTA the cut off score is according to the percentile availed which varies each year. The level of competition to get a merit seat is pretty much difficult in the state.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is properly maintained and each student is having their personal mentorship to evaluate their academic performance. The faculty members are highly qualified almost of them are having postgraduate degrees like MD,MS,MCh and PhDs in their respective specialities.Several faculty members are having fellowships and post doctoral experiences.Faculty members are generally supportive and approachable. There is no toxicity in seniority.
