A college with full of fun only if you have friends

I chose paint technology because of the toughness of the course. As i want to persue government job in future so the relatively easier course gives me a good amount of time to prepare. The attendance rule here is not strict and i have given my end sems even at 20 percentage attendance. The core branches here are good for exposure of students because of the experience of faculties and most of them are industrially trained. The area in which improvement is needed is to teach the faculties some technical knowledge aboult online classes and use of technoligies like smart board and mike. 2 mid sems and 1 end sems are held and difficuktues are based upon the faculties who are making it.

Most of the companies offering internships in our college are unpaid and of 30 or 45 days. The internship is given on the basis of the rank of student in their college exmas. If a student wants a paid internship he must give an exam including aptitute and interview taken by the company itself. some companies giving internship in my branch are bajaj, maruti suzuki, nerolac, burger, etc.

The placements here differ from branch to branch. Tech recruiters are very low here so the placement percentage of CS and IT students are very low ranging from 5LPA to 8LPA so most of the students do not prefer this college for these branches. Students become eligible to placement after commencement of 7th semester. In my branch i.e Paint technology the average salary ranges from 4lpa to 11 lpa with 7 being the average. Some of the top recruiters are Asian paints,nerolac paints, burger, Maruti suzuki, mahindra ,escorts.The highest package offered last year was of 11.2 LPA from Asian paints. Nearly 90% of students get placed in my branch last year and the college average in 75 %. I want to prepare for government jobs.

Tution fees here has been increased by a good margin in last few years.4-5 years before it was only 90000 and now it is 127500 per year.The hostel fees is 24 thousand per year and 36 thousand for mess.So total amount of 2 lakh is spent on the course directly. The UP government scholarship is available for students to avail which is nearly 60k for general and 95k for reserved section.

The overall college life her depends on the friends you make in your hostels. Hostel life here is very fun and full of freedom. The college organises 3 annual fests, Cultural fest, technical fest and sports fest. The cultural fest is the biggest and the most enjoyable one with celebrities like darshan rawal and samay raina. We have central library in our collage which have a collection of nearly 1.5 lakh books and student can easily issue it by using his/her library card. The classrooms are mostly old school and without proper arrangement.Some have a smartboard but the teacher do not use it. The sports facilities here are not so good and mostly students prefer playing in their hostels.Our college has 1 well developed cricket ground, semi developed football ground, one badminton court and one tennis lawn which is never maintained. There are many clubs like dramatics,dancing,coding and sports.

For boys, The first year accomodations is done on rank basis and on the preference of students. Mostly top rankers get single seater if preferred by them or they get a three seater.After first year all the studnts get a chance to have their single room. The room provides one bed, one table and a chair.The single seater room is small but enough for a single person to accomodate. The mess menu is decided by the mess secretary which is appointed by the warden,the food quality is good if the mess secretary is active and always points out the mess workers for their mistakes. the hostel is alloted online and the rooms on the first come first basis.

The eligibility is simple for this course,the student must have 75% aggregate in maths physics chemistry in his 12 boards. The addmission is done directly through the results of jee main on rank basis. HBTU has its own councelling page in which students can apply to get direct addmission in thi college.The application form fee is of 1500 rs. The councelling is done in 3 stages with different cutoffs and after these stages mop up round is done in which cut off ranks become much lower. Yes there is reservation in cutoffs for every category . The exams are conducted in nearly 45 days including 2 midsems of 15 marks and one end sem of 50 marks,the difficulty level is mostly easy to medium and the questions are inspired from PYQs. The addmission process must be fully online and offline councelling must be avoided because it makes harder for people living far from Kanpur.

Most of the faculties are PhD scholars with good experience if we are talking about the permanent ones. The temporary faculties are mostly very naive with very less knowledge about the particular subject. In my course that is paint technology, the teachers methodology is very old school because new recuiretment is not done on regular basis.
