Life at MGIT is exiting and frustrating at the same time.

More than half the students at Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT) happen to be residents of Hyderabad. About a quarter of them come from nearby districts, while the remaining are from North Indian states. The crowd is a lifeless bunch of frustrated engineers just hoping that their course ends soon.

I joined in this college through Jee mains rank.I have got 31000 rank in jee.I opt this college because it is part of CBIT under chaitanya bharathi educational society.

We have about five subjects and 3 laBS in every semester with the course design on osmania university regulations.. I don't know about the research that is going on in the campus because it is not that much active.Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT) is very particular about attendance and nothing below 60% is tolerated. Moreover, you're permitted to fall below the 75% limit only if you have certain medical reasons.A closed gate has been implemented and students need to obtain necessary permissions if they have to leave the campus during the day. College timing is 9:40am to 4:10pm.

Every year more than 200 students of MGIT get internships in various companies. During the internship, our students learn how to implement small portions of real time projects in company for which students get monthly stipend. This helps them to learn, the company environment, team building, technical issues associated with the projects and they get transformed into engineers with better personality and skills. About 250 students who will pass out in 2016, got internships in good MNC's.

TCS is generally the single major recruiter offering jobs to over 150 students every year. Other companies like Franklin Templeton, HCL, Deloitte, CSC, HSBC, Capgemini and many more keep visiting alternately and pick up a handful. On the whole Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT) manages to place a little over 40% of the students with salaries ranging between Rs. 2 lakh to Rs. 4 lakh per annum.

Every year In MGIT in the month of April college fest named "NIRAVANA" is celebrated.Nirvana is celebrated in 4 days.Two days for Technical fest,another day for Traditional day and last day DJ night.NIRVANA is the popular college fest in HYDERABAD.Nirvana' is the biggest festival celebrated at Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT) sometime in March. Students from colleges all over Hyderabad are enthusiastically invited but low turnout disheartens the organizing team. Apart from 'Nirvana', there are various technical events organized by the different departments and clubs. Plus there are a dozen other more interesting events at CBIT every year.

Fees is very expensive in MGIT. For 2016-2020 batch fee regulatory committe fixed a fee of 1lakh.But college went to high court they filed a case against Govt To increase the fees.Now after increasing fee is 1,60,000.Poor student unable pay that fee.

My course fee is INR100000 per academic year in this college. Averege number of students that get scholarship may be around 40 percent.Govt provides 100% scholorship for students with eamcet rank below 10K rank.

College Life is good. Placements for Computer Science is good. Better Infrastructure for all the Courses. Canteen facility was poor during my time. Hostel facility is common for both MGIT and CBIT. This is actually good, as you can find many buddies from both colleges. The food in hostel isn't good though, most of the time students will hangout in CBIT canteen only for food. Overall this is one of the best college to have you graduation.

Hostel facilities are available only for boys at Rs. 40,000 per year with 6 people sharing the room in the first year and 4 in the subsequent years. The hostel blocks are shared with CBIT. There's no girls hostel on the campus; so they've to find a comfortable place somewhere (Langar Houz is the most preferred as it's a livelier area offering several options to choose and the college provides bus facilities around here.Mess food is average.

Great alumini .They contribute to campus welfarement very much.Every year in MGIT alumini meet helds.The alumini members meets after several years they provides some funds to college also.

MGIT is affiliated college under JNTUH.University conducts the exams where questions papers were prepared by JNTUH.Paper valuation is also done by JNTUH. So far many students faced problems with JNTUH paper valuation.

Every year MGIT fill their 70% convener quota seats through Eamcet counseling and 30% Management quota seats through jee ranks,Inter marks etc.However I didn't get a seat through Eamcet counseling.So I had come across an advertisement about Management quota seats in MGIT.After that I applied online and I had got seat in MGIT.

Senior professors teach brilliantly; but while a couple of difficult subjects are taught by the senior staff, most of the other subjects are often taught by the junior faculty members. "In spite of their dedicated efforts, some lecturers aren't able to teach as well as the senior professors" reveals a disappointed MGITian.
