Average college experience with fairly good placement opportunities

The infrastructure can be improved. Medical facilities should be provided on the campus. The faculty is really helpful and cooperative. They are available to the students at all hours and genuinely help the students whenever they need them.

To get admission in SRM Institute of science and technology, I appeared for SRMJEE and got a rank of AIR 16,798. I chose this college because of the past placement records and I was getting the branch of my choice. The exam was of two format, one can choose either online or pen and paper. The date of counseling was given on the basis of rank slots and branches were distributed on the basis of availability.

The course is well divided and planned. But the execution is not so effective. The student is expected to learn a lot of subjects together in one semester whereas the subject distribution is not proper.The focus on research is a bit weak. And not entirely based on practical application.

No. The college doesn't provide internship. The student has to look for internship privately. The college does not provide any internship opportunities to the students.

In 2018, alot of companies came to the campus. The list included, Jonhson controls, Amazon, Hitachi Consulting, Unisys, SAP labs, cisco, temenos, Infosys, Wipro, CTS, TCS, NSE, 2adpro, Honeywell, E and Y, Sahaj software, Chalk street, System insight, Nation star, Wells Fargo, Morgan Stanley. The placement for CSE, it, software engineering is more compared to other branches. Students are given ample opportunities to sit for companies. The packages offered to students ranged from 2.5 lakhs per annum to 26 lakhs per annum

We have national level technical, cultural and sports fests. These include the various different departmental fests also. Various colleges from across India come to participate. Vajra is the national level sports fest, rubaroo is the national level cultural fest of the college which have been graced by chief guests like shalmali kholgade and others.

The fee structure is 1 lakhs 65 thousand yearly which includes tuition and CDC fees. The fees are around ninety thousand rupees for hostel inside the campus, which also includes the mess fees. The CDC( career development course) fees are 15 thousand which is included in the 1 lakh 65 thousand. Overall The college fees are higher than government colleges but in terms of a private college, the fees are quite okay, still a little expensive.

The top 10 SRMJEE rank holders are given full scholarship. That is full tuition fee is waived. The branch topper each year is also given a scholarship and a percentage of tuition fee is waived. The CBSE board or ICSE, state board toppers are given direct admission to the college.

The campus life is okay here. The gender ratio is unequal. The number of girls are less than boys.The fest and cultural life is good. There are several fests that the students can organise and participate in. The societies however have a tendency of power politics like any other student union and one had to carve their way to the top. The campus life can be enjoyed with friends.

The hostel is on a sharing basis. Some have a room of 3-bed sharing and some are 4- sharing types. The hostels are average in terms of infrastructure and accomodation.the buildings are five-storeyed. The cleanliness is maintained and is cleaned by helpers every day. The infrastructure is average though. The mess food is also average. The mess staff is very friendly and helpful the students whenever they can. The mess food is of two types, you can choose from either south Indian or north Indian food.

The alumni network is maintained via an official yahoo group. The juniors can seek help from seniors as ragging is strictly prohibited. The Alma mater network is however not that efficient because alumni meet is irregular.

There were equally spaced exams.During the start of a semester, 2 test cycles were taken, one in each month, then model exams along with model practical, for laboratory subjects. And in the end, a semester exam preceded by semester practical was taken. One can enjoy as well as study for exams with a balance relaxed routine

The admission forms are out in December. And the students can fill it online with a cost of 1000. The exam dates are flexible for the online format but for the offline format, only 1 common date is given for all. The exam is held usually in the month of April. And the results are out within 15-20 days. And the counselling begins around end of may.

The faculty is there to support you whenever you need them. overall the faculty support is above average like any other college. If one has to study, they will actually have to go approach the teacher and reach out to them. The teachers don't say no, but need to be reached. There are lesser number of faculties holding a PhD and courses are majorly taught by associate professor.
