Course Curriculum Overview

4

The relevance of this course made me choose it. It was designed so that we can get a basic idea of everything we need in practical life already. For example in my course, we had python in first semester and Data Science, Data Structures, OOPs in Java and R language introduction in 2nd semester. It didn't include subjects that was less relevant to this course or courses with AI specialisation. The curriculum gives you the basic idea of things that children are supposed to learn on their own. this makes it easy for students to get started as they are required to learn about about that for exams. The core branches should have some more coding in 2nd sem and AI branches should have 3 coding related subject instead of 4 in semester 2. But all of it are managed doesn't matter what branch you choose, you'll have to study about things sooner or later. The syllabus goes at its normal pace. I think we get less time after mid terms but that too is manageable.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

We have software engineers in Microsoft, Meta, LinkedIn, Google, Atlassian and Goldman Sachs and many other companies. We are advised to focus on DSA and have different mentorship programs for the same. We build project together for any competition, internship or hackathon. We focus on soft skills like networking, leadership management through working in clubs and that's where you meet seniors and interact with them. You can easily approach seniors on LinkedIn as well.

Placement Experience

4.5

From 5th semester students are eligible for internships and pre placement offers. IGDTUW is quite famous for its placement records and once it was trending on twitter due to it's recession proof placement. Companies like Microsoft, Atlassian, Google, Goldman Sachs etc visit here and last year 15 students got a package of 85 lpa which was highest package and 20 lpa is average package here. The record says 100 percent placement last year and the linkedin profiles of alumini shows the same. I'm planning to get placed just after the completion of the degree or maybe getting a pre placement offers even before. After getting into a job I will improve, grow and learn.

Fees and Financial Aid

If you are an SC/ ST/OBC, you'll be provided with few waiver. EWS gets the fee waiver on the basis of performance. In the categories they provide students with laptops when they score good. There's a scholarship of 100 percent fee waiver if you have the highest gpa in all the branches. Branch upgradation is also a benefit of scoring high. The complete cost of my education is almost 3 Lakh per year including hostel and mess. The MCM scholarship provided by Delhi Government can help and scholarship opportunities from companies like Google and Amazon are also informed and can be availed.

Campus Life

4

Taaranagana is the main fest of IGDTUW which is organised well and big singers like Shan, Javel Ali, Darshan Rawal did concert in it . Innerve is the Tech fest of IGDTUW. There are other fests like jhilmil- diwali fest and dandiya nights are there in dussehra. Different societies and clubes organises their completions and events in collaboration with companies and working professionals. Library contains large variety of books needed for the curriculum as well as soft skills. After the renewal date of issuing a book there's a fine of 1? /day and it's convenient to take books and return it due to it's quick process. Classes in IT department are air conditioned and has projectors or screen for teaching. But other department are old and require renovation. Events are organised for sports. Athletes in the society are made to practice almost daily. Extra curricular societies are active and the credit goes to seniors and students. They will search for the opportunity for you to grow in it

Hostel Facilities

3

Some of the rooms for freshers have AC. Coolers are allowed to be kept on the first and second floor with extra payment. The hostel and mess fee is 133000 and AC and other electrical appliances costs extra. The food is average and there are students assigned for improvement in hostel events and mess. Menu changes as per student advises and you can complain for any inconveniences. Hostel form is to be filled correctly and complete for hostel allocation. Outside Delhi and NCR are preferred and rooms are alloted on the basis of lists. Menu includes chhola bhatura, dosa, idli fry, noodles, vermicelli, kheer, fruits, poha, sandwich, poori sabji and all. Nonveg is also available and food without onion and garlic as well. Kashmere gate is the location of the college, so you can rent a room or PG accordingly.

Admission

Counseling is done through JAC. If you get college through that, just wait for the orientation day. I got ECE AI in spot round but it later got upgraded into AIML. Admission is done on the basis of jee mains rank and you just have to be clear with jac choice filling. Internal upgradation also takes place. I was an outside Delhi student and there's an 85 percent of quota for Delhi students. So it is fairly difficult for outside Delhi student to get here and the rank difference is huge. It is a Delhi government college and I think it's worth it to study with Delhi student as Delhi provides opportunities and a way to become street smart.

Faculty

3.5

IGDTUW is rated as one of the best University in faculty to student ratio hence I don't need to talk a lot about it. It gives you an opportunity to work with and under different professors and gain experience and knowledge. Professors are there with you when you need them specially when applying for some internship or scholarship. The teaching style is more practical for getting job and get placed easily. CRs can interact with professors on WhatsApp and it depends on professor how they like to be approached. Some prefer mails while other whatsapp. But you can meet and discuss with them whenever you see them. There are no strict rules that can prevent you from talking to them.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.
