Remarks
The college management is a typically slow as expected from a government organization but the student live it up.
Entrance Preview
NIPER JEE, AIR: 146, Chose MBA over the MS course, as my NIPER coach advised that i am more suited for an MBA and I kind of resonated with his advise. Also, the notion of having 100% placements in MBA also drove me towards the course. 100% placements is actually true and the salaries are on a higher side vs MS. No offense to my mates.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is a strong one, its been adapted from the reputed Panjab Univ. It has all the subjects of a regular MBA tailored to Pharma, for e.g Product Management is Pharmaceutical Product Management etc.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are coordinated by the student placement committees, the college placement committee is no good. And yes my batch of 57 had 100% internships most of them coordinated by our committee. the stipend had a huge range highest being 15k per month for 2-3 months and the least being nothing at all.
Placement Experience
The placements are good, all of our batch was placed. We had a great list of companies that picked our mates. Following are of top mention ZS(1), GSK(6), Indegene (3), IMS Health (6), Pharmarc (6), Novartis (1), DMV (5).
College Events
There was one major fest called Spandan, there was a sporting even with the same name which went on for almost 2-3 weeks and then the actual day of Spandan which was our annual day too.
Fee Structure And Facilities
As its a totally central govt funded univ the MBA course fee is nominal. It was 1.76 lakh for 2 years which also included the lodging.
Campus Life
Gender ratio was definitely not great but nothing to pinch at. In our class of 57, 9 were girls. The ratio was better in the MS course but definitely the guys outnumbered. The great thing about this is being a national univ with a common entrance test across India, the classes had a very diverse crowd and everyone co existed without any religious ethnic or sexual bias. Also everyone knew that any kind of tiff or fight would rusticate both parties hence never had i seen any religious sex or race based tiffs
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities were amazing. the rooms were very neat, the college atmosphere was one to cherish until ure death. The mess was a student maintained one and hence was also very good.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is a strong one for the MBAs. All of our seniors are serving great positions and are very helpful always.
Exam Structure
The exams schedule was a pretty chilled out one. We had one per semester that is all and apart from that we had some course work now and then but not at all frequent. We did have the major research project at the end.
Faculty
The faculty is one thing that is a concern for me. There is only 3 regular faculty. The faculty though they are qualified professionals, they do not teach whats out there in the industry. Its a very strong problem I am pointing out here, all of my alumnus and also myself are pretty well settled now but I would always give that our own hardwork, in terms of college education, i will give only 10% credit to our position today. Faculty could be much better which could propel this course and college to the level of a BSchool.
