Entrance Preview

I opt for CA CPT i.e. the Chartered Accountant Common Proficiency Test has to be cleared to enter the entry level i.e. the first level at which a student can start pursuing the Chartered Accountancy (professional accounting) course. It is conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for admitting students to the Chartered Accountancy course. You must have passed 10+2 examination or equivalent from a recognized institution. You must be registered for the Common Proficiency Test with the Board of Studies of the Indian Chartered Accountancy of India (ICAI). Even if you have already registered for the Professional Course, you are eligible for appearing in this test. The CPT (Common Proficiency Test) is an objective type examination of 4 hours duration divided into 2 sessions of 2 hours each. The total marks for the test is 200. SESSION–I (Two Sections– Two hours –100 Marks), Section A: Fundamentals of Accounting (60 Marks), Section B: Mercantile Laws (40 Marks) SESSION–II (Two Sections–Two hours–100 Marks), Section C: General Economics (50 Marks) (buy Economics Class 12 CD), Section D: Quantitative Aptitude (50 Marks), there are multiple choice questions with negative marking for incorrect answers. To clear the CPT, a student has to obtain a total of 50% marks in all the papers together. The admission requirements for the second level of the course i.e. PCC (Professional Competency Course) require that the student should have qualified in the CPT. This level is thus the entry level for all the students including graduates. I didnt give any entrance exam.

Course Curriculum Overview

No stipend and internship was present as this was a bachelors degree. It was a fully packed course of 8 semesters and 64 subjects. 1 mini project and 1 main project. Main ...It was a three year program. My specialization was into Taxation. Total we read around 27 subjects in 3 years. Exam conducted was annually. We had three practical papers in each year.

Internships Opportunities

In first and second year, I never got any chance but soon I completed my second year college helped a lot with the coming vacancies from the companies and different law firms.

Placement Experience

2.5

A large number of the students have been placed in very reputed law firms, corporate houses, LPOs & NGOs etc. as the training and the placement are the thrust areas of the college. From this year the College has initiated a Career Guidance Scheme for the IVth and Vth Year students which are compulsory for every student through which the students shall be interned and trained as per the requirement of employability. Various law firms as ASC Legal, Excel Law Firm, Khaitan & Khaitan etc have visited the college for the recruitment and selected a number of the students that have been placed.A large number of the students have been placed in very reputed law firms, corporate houses, LPOs & NGOs etc. as the training and the placement are the thrust areas of the college. College Events

4

Every year there is two event one is called kshitij and anither one is umang where in dj party was there singing competition dance competition was there it was a real fun. It's rightly said... No other joy is more precious than the joy of giving. The Institutional Social Responsibility Committee of Mithibai College is organizing "The Joy of Giving Week" from 29th August to 3rd September 2016. In this drive, donations will be collected in the form of clothes, toys, utensils, stationery, foodstuff etc. The Joy of Giving of last year attracted around 130 student volunteers. At the end of the event, they were able to collect 70 cartons of clothes, utensils and stationery. With every passing year, the number of donors is increasing which is seen in the fact that around 400 people donated towards the donation drive in 2015 which was double the figure in 2014. While the collected items were handed over to 8 NGOs in 2014, it increased to 11 NGOs in 2015.Thus, this noble initiative organized by Mithibai College continues to impact numerous lives of the less fortunate.

Campus Life

5

Many students expect their life, on their own, to be paradise. Living free of their parent’s reign, students move into dormitories [a resident hall providing rooms for individuals or for groups usually without private baths(Merrium-Webster)]. Life without curfews and many "house" rules would seem to be a student’s first taste of being an adult. Living in the dorms is the biggest hardship and challenge for most freshman students in transition from home to college life not to mention the life of living on campus period. The living conditions, roommates’ situations, and campus life are most of the difficulties one might face as a freshman in the dorms. Since there are many students that live in the dorms throughout the year, the school cannot possibly afford to make each dormitory into a holiday inn suite. Some dorms do not even have air conditioning, which makes it hard for a student during the really hot days of the year. For example, I myself lived in a non-air-conditioned dormitory my freshman year and it was so hot in the room you would want to take cold showers just so you wouldn’t have to break a sweat when you got back to the room, it was a very uncomfortable situation. The heat and humidity during the summer and spring can make living unbearable. Sleepless nights, constant sweating, and dehydration are all serious possibilities to those students. For many freshman, living conditions in the dorms can produce hardships than can be uncomfortable and an inconvenience. For example, shy students who are embarrassed with their bodies may find it hard to take a shower with other people using the same facility. The limited space in the dorm is small. Green Hall for example, the room is 10'3"(w) x 17'10"(L) and the windows are 4'2"(w)x 4'8"(H) (ECU). The limited and small refrigerator’s are a task also. Through experience, the actual size of the freezer can hold seven hot pockets.

Hostel Facilities

5

Good, its not excellent, but above average. There were a wide variety of food available. It was really encouraging.Senior students helped us a lot in each year. We had the practical guidance from them only. They shared their previous notes too. The college was excellent. It was located in lush green area with huge campus. The college hostel was excellent with good food qualities. The campus was too large. Lloyd Law College, Greater Noida has been set up to provide prospective law students with quality education coupled with the best practical knowledge. Law happens to be one of the most important facets of a civilized society.

Alumni/Alumna

When choosing colleges, students put a high priority on finding the best academic programs for their field of study. While this is obviously important, another factor that potential students should consider is the alumni network at each of their prospective choices. Alumni networks do more than help fund Alma Maters; they become a professional and personal community to aid graduates in advancement throughout the course of their lives. With this in mind, the university or college one chooses for undergraduate, and post-graduate work becomes more than only a place to garner an education. It is also a place to build the foundation for their future.

Exam Structure

It was a chilled out.Since my course have very little to do with labs, I never had any encounter particularly. But during the moot courts, the lab and the arrangements are done smoothly with no problems our college recently organised an international moot court and it was a big success.

Faculty

When I started with the college, the faculty was good the teachers were interested in the class and the students but with time the college started changing the teachers, as a result of which, as a student I was not happy and was completely taken by the idea of the college.

Quite substandard and below average. Prioritised rote learning over critical thinking. Just a rubber stamp for a degree. No actual education ever took place. Exams were anually or bi annually. Exams were difficult if you cannot write 30 pages in 3 hours.

The curriculam is designed for all round development of the student and to make that person an expert in that field, these aspects influeneced me to choose it. Very well, with extra paper of real world application on each subject it ensures that we take something from the course and become industry ready The teachings methods and cirriculam are excellent I don't think any changes are required Exams are all year round, every month and are extremly difficult to deal with, as Xavier's bar is very high.
