Entrance Preview

Heard about this college from relatives and loved its infrastructure. Opted for the course of choice and got admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Course curriculum was good. It covered all aspects of the subject. It was divided into 4 subjects across 4 semesters. Each subject handled a different aspects of the course which definitely aids in better understanding. Not much focus on research in my stream, however; in some of the other streams research focus were high.

Internships Opportunities

When I was studying, there were no internship programme, however there were some soft skills coaching done for few selected students who were later assisted for placement programmed.

Placement Experience

3

Placements and Job opportunity scenario were not very good earlier, however; with course of time, things have changed. the college conducted job fair where students across the city attended interviews. There were companies ranging from services, BPO, pharma sectors and IT companies in my field. Initial approximation of joing salary across all new joinees were around 10000 rupees.

College Events

4.5

College was full of activities. the main college fest was Gardenia which was celebrated as a festival with performers both internal as well as renowned external people. Also Freshers day and all indian festivals were celebrated in the college campus. There were cultural interity and departmental fests were also performed highlighting individual departmental achievements and projects.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is expensive for external students but very minimum for university quota students. Additional hostel charges are also quite high. university student taking admission into college might be charged 1 lac however an external student would end up paying 4 lac for overall charges in the college during my years.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life was definitely amazing. Diverse students with people across multiple foreign countries to come and join as students. Multiple cultural fests, departments fest and annual day were celebrated in the campus. Ratio of male to female was 60-40 and there were no political parties involved in the campus life.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is there where every year on 18-Jun or the Saturday close to the date, the college celebrates a reunion day. During college life, seniors were helpful and there have been interaction with college students in the hostel too.

Exam Structure

2 semesters across a year so a total of 4 semesters or university exams. Apart from that internal tests were performed. Separate laboratory exams/viva were also performed. Exams and labs were perfectly designed and never kept us on pressure. Few days were definitely hectic, overall chilled out college life.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty of college was a mix of experienced professional with P.hD degrees to new joinee teachers or the senior students who joned as teachers. The HOD for all departments were experienced in their area of expertise. All faculties were definitely qualified with minimum of post graduation as their educational background.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Food and nutrition articles in newspaper made me to take this course. As it had full scope in that time. Actually curriculum is very poor in preparing us for real world application. Practical session must include more of industrial visits and projects related to industry. We had enough time to study .

Hence this university is reputed one in Karnataka.. i choose this one and I got the seat and I am very happy for this. The teaching methods are really good but it depends on particular lecturers, how they teach .. For main sem exam the time was around 3 hours for 70 marks and it was moderate and can be manageable

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is fairly distributed among the 2 years. The first year broadly covers the course work, and learning of the laboratory techniques. Followed by a mini project and a major project under a professor of interest. Stem cell biology always intrigued me and this course offered exactly what I want. The curriculum focuses on training students very rigorously to make them fit for harsh conditions and situations in the real research world.
