- Aspects of the college that i think needed improvement is that 75% attendence should not be mandatory
- Quality of social interaction might be less as local students of college are not so disciplined
- One important point canteen's food quality is very degraded
Course Curriculum Overview
Aspects of the curriculum that influenced me to choose this course is BCA is one of the best professional courses offered by MLNC. The curriculum and the faculty helped me a lot to deal with real-world applications and for further academic pursuits. Teaching in the college is same as in schools it should be changed as students want some upgradation as they come from schools to college. Exams came after every 6 months prior to that university exams there came pre university tests.
Internships Opportunities
Recently our college with collaboration with solitaire Infosys provided internship to the students in which they get to know about python language and worked on different projects. This internship is provided in Mohali .
Placement Experience
After 4th semester exams college provide multiple opportunities to the students regarding internship which enhances their work experience and make them eligible for placements . From the end of 5th sem companies start visiting campus for placement drives . Currently due to recession in jobs in technical field number of technical companies visiting campus is too less. From last two years IT students are doing jobs in mgt. and sales department. Average package is around INR 2.5 LPA and highest package is 10LPA . Some companies that visited campus for placement drives are WIPRO, INFOSYS, TECH MAHINDRA, TCS, etc
Fees and Financial Aid
Total First year fees for course BCA is Rs 45000 for second year it is Rs43500 and for the final year it is Rs 41500. If we talk about scholarship, for SC ST category per year scholarship is around 30000-40000 and for general category it is only 3000-5000.
Campus Life
Annual festivals that took place in college campus are like Diwali mela , teej fest , sports day , these fests are held by different clubs in our college like Environmental Club , Share and care club , Imagica Club, PEC club etc. Street plays are also performed in different areas on several public issues by Share and care club. Books available in Library are less in number according to the number of students there are many students who didn't get books from Library due to unavailability.
Admission
Eligibility for the BCA course at my time was 10+2 from PCM or Commerce with maths . Admission process is at first student has to register himself on KUK's offical website selecting college and course. Than merit lists are open to the students on University's offical website one by one 3 merit list are there. Cut off for BCA was around 80% approx. Still if seats are left afte merit list than there is open counseling for the rest of the seats.
Faculty
Teachers in our college are very open to the students they treat students like their friends. Faculty's credentials and their approach to teaching mentorship is top notch. If i talk about my interaction with teachers i am very open to my teachers .
