Course Curriculum Overview

4

Curriculum of physics was pretty comfusing and difficult sometimes to understand but at the end that depends on the student and her personal choices but according to me, physics was a bit hard to understand sometimes. Teachers of physics curriculum are good enough to make students understand concept. As for mathematics, analysis was difficult to understand because all you have to do is assume to solve. It was pretty difficult but the teacher tried to make the students understand and she repeats everytime you ask her to. Mathematics teachers are very much helpful in mcm. Chemistry was easy to study except there is a teacher who used to teach inorganic chemistry and it was kind off impossible to be taught from her . Curriculum has not much of relevance with the real world, only for those who wants to comtinue in this stream. Curriculum can be more of practical than being theory. Timing of exams are good and they are of moderate level.

Fees and Financial Aid

Year wise fees was used to be 20000 to 22000, but as for the hostel fee structure, they keep on increasing the hostel fee every year with as such no changes in the facilities. My course was good enough for non medical students but unfortunately there were no placements or internships as such made for the students of this course. There are scholarships for the students too but either they should be very intelligent to get that or if one has a SC/ST certificate, it comes in handy which is not at all justified for other students studying. Teachers are okay but rude sometimes. Most of them are good and cooperative but still weird behaviours can be seen too. Overall its a good course but only if you love studying maths, physics and chemistry because no research or placements in this college for this course.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life of mcm is full of joy. As sometimes you will some nukkad natak playing in the mobile zone of our college. yes that's right, one can not use phones in the college premises as there is a separate mobile zones in the college with two swings and food and a big ground. Sometimes, there will be some charity program going on in the campus and sometimes teachers protests related to their salaries from the government. There are many trips posters around the college as our college organises many trips per year. Extra curricular activites are also there. Groups of ncc and nss are seen practising and parading in the big ground.

Admission

I applied to all of the colleges under PU but on the top preference, i kept MCM and other than this my second option was Post graduate government college for girls sector 42. It is a pretty nice college too with a better infrastructure than mcm dav college but the faculty and the vibes of mcm are good. As mcm is both a mixture of functions and lots of study. Different types of events keep happening here in this college. Admission process in mcm is very simple, you just need to fill the form for the course you want to take admission in from the website itself. Eligibility for bsc non medical is having to do non medical in 12th class with percentage at least 85% or above. It will be a little difficult below that unless someone has a reservation certificate.

Faculty

4

Teachers are goood but I can talk about my course teachers only because I dont know about the other teachers as much. As much as i have heard, Ba teachers are kind off strict. Bsc non medical teachers are helpful but they can give you a lot of taunts to hear, they can scold you for less attendance. If a student want to go and ask for help, teachers will happily help. Faculty to student ratio was okay and they were very easily approachable because most of the science classes are on the same floor so either the teacher will be in the staff room or in one of the classes. Also they clear your doubts online too. I like one of my chemistry and physics teachers because they are quite friendly and strict at the same time. I dont like one of my physics teacher because of the way she treat students sometimes like she is a bit arrogant and rude. There are one mid term held before the finals and they are pretty manageable to do its the student has studied enough. It mostly comes from the book.

Other Applied Colleges

Post Graduate Government College for Girls | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Non-Medical)

Because I got opted in MCM first as it was also my first preference

Course Curriculum Overview:

1. Flexibility of course and type it has to be done . For further academic pursuits definitely yes but for real world application as of now except computer application there is no real world application of this as of physics it is more derivation type topic is covered in the first semester as of now. I course should be designed to prepare for real world application not the old school craming and derivation type. Exam happen twice a year in april and in novembor-december and of moderate level

Course Curriculum Overview:

Being a Science student , I loved my curriculum as it provides application parts with laboratories . I choose this course as I always wanted to learn more about science and its various fields. For me overall curriculum is good and have moderate level but I would suggest to reduce the syllabus little bit so that most of the students can learn whole syllabus Exams are being conducted regularly as per the University guidelines.
