- There's no talk and support about startups once your studies start.
Course Curriculum Overview
Poornima Institute of Engineering and Technology (PIET) offers a curriculum that covers fundamental concepts and provides a decent foundation for students. While the college introduces students to emerging technologies and includes some practical projects, it can sometimes fall short in offering deep, cutting-edge knowledge. The real-world application aspect is present, but more industry exposure and advanced, hands-on opportunities could enhance its effectiveness. The teaching methods are straightforward but could benefit from more interactive and engaging approaches. Exam frequency and timing are generally manageable, though the difficulty level may not always challenge students enough to fully prepare them for the complexities of the industry. Overall, PIET is an average college that provides a solid but not exceptional education.
Internships Opportunities
There are startups providing internships near the college. We've to do interships after completion of each one year and you'll get Marks depending upon your performance in the internship. Making projects will become a habit for you as there are much more projects other than the intership. Some companies have tied up with the college to provide interships, still it's a tough job to get a stipend. You'll have to pay for internships.
Placement Experience
Various companies visit the campus. You've a good chance of getting qualified and crack the placements here. As the criteria for attending the placements varies for every company. Some require 6.5 CGPA, some need 7 CGPA. While some companies allow you for placements, even with backlogs.
Fees and Financial Aid
hostel fee is 105000 for non AC and 120000 for AC and it's increasing 10k every year. I'm in 3rd year and the tuition fee is 102000. Fluctuates about 5k every year. There are seats reserved with scholarship for different schemes as Jammu state and national scholarship and others.
Campus Life
Campus life is really good until you meet some wrong friend circle. There are good students, there are average students and then there are smokers and drinkers. So, stay safe and healthy... There are supportive seniors and the environment is quite cultural as well. You'll also get support for sports.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is clean, bathrooms are quite not acceptable but, you can manage... Students here are provided with a good table chair arrangements with wardrobes and racks. You can get complaint filed for every issue and it will be solved by the next day. The mess menu is good enough with some average taste. Like, you'll get bored of paneer over here. But, it's much better than other hostels.
Admission
I didn't score very good in my exams. Neither borad nor jee. My board result was 70% and percentile in jee was 76. Therefore I had to choose similar private colleges with affordable fees. I chose this college because it's quite good at placements and the greenary is maintained so, there's no doubt about a good health.
Faculty
There's 1 faculty on each 30 students to look after and we call them tutor. The teachers are good after the second year. There are very strict for the first year and they feel like they just want to give backlogs to every student. So, it's mandatory to work hard here to exist. You'll be so busy in other works like Notes, non syllabus projects, training project, i3 projects and lab work, assignments that you won't have time to learn anything relavant to today's world. The college already takes more than half of your day. There are 10-15 days gap before the endsem exams that gives you a good opportunity to score good marks.
