Remarks
College is very strict regarding discipline and timing. You need to enter college before 9.13 or you can enter at 10.30. You cannot enter and leave college at your own well and wish. In spite of discipline, you will enjoy your college days and become a professional after three years.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is decided by the university and the college has no control over it. The course curriculum provides you knowledge of basics and not about how the real industry works. College provides us with timely workshops to keep us updated about what is going in the industry but it is not at all sufficient.
College Events
The annual fest is celebrated in our college. The football tournament is being held every year. There are carrom tournaments and table tennis tournaments every year. Saraswati Puja (Basanta Utsav) is celebrated every year. Students showcase their talent by giving singing and dancing performances and exhibiting art gallery.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is INR 3 lacs for three years which comprises of 6 semesters. You need to pay INR 50,000 every semester. Other expenses include travel expenses and buying of practical files and pages for doing assignments that are mandatory to buy from the college.
Fees and Financial Aid
I opted for an education loan and you can easily get a bonafide certificate from college to get your loan approved.
Campus Life
Campus life is not very pleasing as we have a small campus and no place to roam around or hang out on the campus. The gender ratio is almost 50:50 and there are mostly Bengali people. You will find very few hindi speaking or other language floks. The football tournament is being held every year.
Alumni/Alumna
The seniors are very helpful. You can go to them at any time and ask for help. This is an anti-ragging institute and no one will ever complain of ragging. Alumni members are invited for interaction with the juniors on a regular basis.
Admission
Getting admission into IEM for BCA was pretty simple as I had good marks in class 10 as well as class 12. Their requirement is 60% marks in both the standards. If you are from science background you are eligible for admission if you meet the 60% criteria. For commerce student, you need to have Maths and English in your curriculum.
Faculty
The faculties are very qualified though many of them lack teaching skills. They have complete knowledge about the subjects they teach and will clear all your doubts if you go and ask them personally. In class, there are only a few teachers who will be able to explain the topic thoroughly. Though they lack teaching techniques yet they try to help students in every possible way and will definitely clear your doubts relating to the curriculum.
