Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The guntur medical College is 2nd top medical College in Andhra Pradesh. The infrastructure is also good. I am a person who loves the rock structures and this college preserved the college blocks built by the british. It is nearer to my house. The college is very near to railways station and bustation. That's why I chose this college. The curriculum has integrated classes for certain topics which makes it easy for us to understand anatomy, physiology, biochemical aspects and pathology same time. They also made us visit wards in 1st year to see patients and interact with them. We visited hospital wards for anemia complications during pregnancy, jaundice and varicose veins topics as they are more common in india. We also has family adoption programme where each medico should adopt 5 families and interact with them. The psm dept leads us.We have to visit them 4 times and record the family members information. The exams are conducted after completion of every unit which helps to read topics

Internships Opportunities

3.5

We have to do 1 year internship in our hospital or nearby phc to serve the society. We have several options after mbbs. We can give neet pg to do further studies in India. We can give usmle for pg in America. Basically we have different exams to attempt for different countries. The internship helps us to improve our communication skills and practical skills. We can also start practice after mbbs in clinics.

Fees and Financial Aid

For mbbs, an obc and general category person should pay The tution fee and admission fee is 10,620 rs/yr DD fee for registration is 10,600 rs Sports and games fee is 1500 rs The tution fee for sc and st category ranges from 6000-8000 The fees for entire year for any person ranges between 12,000-15,000 The university examination fees, record fees is not included in this Our college provides medal examinations and scholarship of 10,000rs every year for economically weaker students Government also provides fees reimbursement and schemes like jagananna vidhya deevena for economically weaker students

Campus Life

3.5

Our college conducts annual day every year where students are presented with different food stalls, games are also conducted including volleyball, ball badminton, cricket, chess, ping pong, ring etc. Fashion show is also done. freshers party is conducted where oath taking and white coat ceremony is conducted. The freshers are encouraged to participate in dancing and singing and anchoring by seniors. Every book required for mbbs examinations is available in library and we can enter library for free. We have to show college id for borrowing book. We have chalk boards and projectors and smart boards for teaching. Our college encourages students to participate in inter College sports competitions. Our college has clubs for music, photography and others. They helps us to extend our social circle and helps us to relieve stress from academics. We have regular meetups to share our interests and hobbies.

Admission

I applied to this college along with other government medical colleges but my first preference is guntur medical College because it is nearer to my house. Our college op is large and many different cases which helps us to expand our knowledge and practical skills. We have to clear neet with decent score, then we have to apply for counselling where student should select colleges according to their priorities. Based on student neet rank the allotment of colleges is done. The cutoff marks and ranks are available in ntruhs. The admission process is smooth. We just have to be updated with the notifications of ntruhs for fees and reporting dates.

Faculty

3.5

The professors are good towards students. They explain doubts when student approaches & asks it. Students are allowed to meet professors in their rooms or after class, in labs also. Each department has 1hod,1assosiate professor, 6assistant professors and 3pgs. In anatomy department I personally had great experience with Chandrika, Durga and Nageshwarao sir in anatomy dept.In physiology dept,I loved to have discussion with Priscilla and Lakshmi Divya and Krishnam Raju sir and in biochemistry dept students had great experience with Mariya kumar and Sowjanya.I personally didn't like Udaya shree mam in anatomy dept because she is little partial towards her dissection table students and Swamy & bhanu sir in biochemistry dept because they're way too strict towards students and in physiology dept NandaKumar sir he is really rude towards students. Part completion tests, internals,1prefinal are conducted, they're medium difficulty.30/250 students fail. They touch important topics in these exams

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum that we follow us CBME curriculum. That reflects the clinical knowledge blended with the general knowledge of mbbs and this curriculum suits us in terms of many applications to the practice of medicine. The difficulty level is increased for the final exams but it is good for the competition that increased in these days.

My choice for this profession is that,it gives highest level of respect It is the Profession to save the lives of people The life which was taken away by the evil can be dragged back by the doctors The first year's dissection of cadavers,2nd 3rd 4th year's gives the experience to treat any case and to overcome the fear of blood No improvements needed in our college,as everything seems perfect Timing is planned by expertise, frequency of exams is very accurate and gives boost to remember every topic

Course Curriculum Overview:

1}the specific aspect that influenced my decision are my parent and relatives who hold the social stigma of being a doctor can give a secured life whereas nowadays doctor is one of the most vulnerable profession due to the incidents that are happening recently 2}the cirriculum is not great for students when it comes to the topic of facing real world situations as being in pvt.college doesnt exopse us to vasr amount of patients and mostly the graduates dont know how to deal with patients 3}the areas that should need an improvement is in imrpoving dissection hall facilities and posting lessers members in a sysytematic way to give time for each and every student a better exposure to the patients 4}the frequency of exams is adequate enough for an above avg student to cope up with the burdensome and vast syllabus but it might be diffucult for a below avg student and my perspective of the difficulty level is somewhat tough and stressful

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually MBBS is structured in such a way that it helps students step by step to learn.. it's anything but perfect .. I am not in a position to suggest but when we are exposed to this vast world in first year which is entirely new to us,it is difficult for us to adjust. We step by step start learning to accommodate in this new world and by the time we adjust and start reading first year comes to and end and then only running,we don't have time to atleast cover our basics so that we can continue for further 3 years.. basics when we aren't aware of we can't confidently go into next years syllabus, but if we try studying basics in the next year we will be again lagging the next year syllabus and cycle goes on.. Mental pressure is the most common that we all feel and for relieving we don't have anything,no cultural activity,no sports,nothing.. that is why many are getting on the wrong side and getting addicted to phone, movies, other addictions
