Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

International Relations is a course not liked by many but i was certain as the demand for this course will increas and hence I chose this cours. Statistics and all is taught in our course which I feel are unnecessary subjects. However, no complaints with th faculties as they try to make the lectures ever so interesting.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

College helped us provide internships in many multinationals along with Niti Aayog and big 4 companies. Siemens has partnered with college and a lot of students get internships opportunities to work at Siemens and other top companies that operates in Bangalore.

Placement Experience

4.5

This happens only after you have done some intenrships and have the required exposure and skill sets which first need to be shown at the placement cell. Nearly 70% students are placed from our campus with an average placements of 5LPA and in 2022 one student bagger ab offer worth 21 Laksh from Bain & Co, still remains the highest ever.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees increased from first year to second year as it was 140000 and then it became 160000 the next year. Apart from OBC reservation that I availed there are various other scholarships that are available in our university. General category students have to pay a shade over 2 lakhs a year.

Campus Life

4.5

The biggest event of SJU is Visages and apart from that, we have annual fests and departmental fests every month. In regards to sports we have a cricket ground, a football ground, basketball courts and what not. For indoor sports lover theres an entire stadium for indoor sports. Over 200 societies are operational at our campus and most of them are fully student run societies.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Boys hostels are inside the campus while girls hostels of SJU are off campus. There are two girls hostel names Nivas and Navasadhana and both of them have single to multiple sharing rooms. Hostels are affordable as a normal PG near SJU charges at least 10k a month for accomodation while SJU hostel rooms are available for a shade over lakh in which mess fees is also included.

Admission

I applied at Christ University but Christ intake is much higher than that of SJU and hence I chose SJU. My admissions we will confirmed at Christ and I didn't event made it to the first list of SJU but as soon as I did, I ditched Christ for SJU and I feel, I took the right decision.

Faculty

4.5

Faculties for each stream are hired in numbers. We have almost three professors for each subject and therefore one will never see a lecture being missed. 1:6 is the student ratio which is a sick ratio as these many professors for each stream is possible only in SJU. Exams happene twice every semester that lasts four and a half months.

Interview Experience

4.5

Entrance ke mandatory and post that there is a screening process. I took help of some seniors before taking admissions as mostly current affairs topics questions are asked during screening rounds and some personal questions too through which they gauge our personality.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible to sit for placement in their final years. The companies which comes for the placement are deloitte, goldmanSachs, amazon and many more reputed companies. And they do make many offers. The highest package reports around 30 LPA and the average goes on around 3 to 4.5 LPA. Around 70-90 percent get placements. My plans is to pursue higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements towards the final semester of their course. Currently, I have only been using the help of my faculty for internship opportunities, since I am not looking for placements. But they have connections with big names in the communication sector, and they often have personalities coming in to give talks and interact with the students. A great number of students opt for placements and approximately 90% of them do end up getting posted at really good companies. Others choose to continue with higher education. My plan after receiving my degree would be to take up a diploma in literature in the UK, while simultaneously finding myself a position at a good publishing house there.

Placement Experience:

From my seniors, I hear that 20/30 % of students from our college get placed. But now being in my final sem I know the reality. For covid and lockdown, the placement sector has been badly hit. Only a handful of companies came this year (5/6 companies). 4/5 people from our batch are placed but no placement for the big chunk of people. From 5th sem students become eligible for placements but in 5th sem, no company came to our college for placement this year. Only in the 6th sem, the placement cell started. Companies that visited till now ( some of them came to take interns and didn't offer full-time jobs) 1) Clevertize, 2) Social Panga, 3) Robert Bosch GmbH, 4) Saatchi & Saatchi, 5) Publicis, 6)PR Pundit, 7) McKinsey, 8) Edsol Edtech, 9) Momo Media, 10) MSL, 11) Genesis BC, Offers: 1.5-3 LPA (average). I plan to send CVs personally to companies through LINKEDIN and other job search platforms because the college hasn't provided us with good placement offers as claimed.
