Likes

I like the behaviour, teaching skills and cooperation of my teachers they are very helpful
There is a lot of extra curricular activities like every year we celebrate college week
The canteen is too good it's from krc and well behaviour

Dislikes

The toilets of the common room are very much dirty and unhygienic
I don't like Politics at academic level there is a lot of student union group

Course Curriculum Overview

I have always been interested in commerce that's why I've chosen this course the teaching method is good overall the newly came faculty should improve their teaching skills, the timing for the internal examination was 1 hour and the paper was 20 marks and the timing for the final examination is 3 hours marks 80.

Class Size: 265Course Fees: INR 18000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

I've done admission in the year 2021 and the fee was 4580 for 1sem and 2nd semester 400 and The fee for the examination form fillup was 1350 for each semester and when I was in the 3rd sem, I got a scholarship from obc and amount was 6980 many of my friends got free admission because of their income certificate which was EWS.

Campus Life

There are many festivals we celebrate in our college like college week, freshers, general freshers, and culture fest, there are clubs in our department like the media club, eco club, sports club, etc. There are sports like kabbadi, kho kho, basketball, volleyball ball there is an indoor stadium in our college, we play badminton and table tennis.

Admission

I applied for Tezpur College and I got selected but I was not admitted there because it was my dream to be admitted to Darrang College since childhood Darrang College is Assam's one of the biggest college and 2nd colleges in Assam. Darrang College is a famous college and different from other colleges the campus of my college is large it has a large playground and many departments.

Faculty

The faculty of my college are nice and cooperative there are 2exam in each semester one is internal and the other one is the semester final examination when I was in the 4th sem the university has given me the unfair results I paid them for a recheck but didn't receive true and fair result many of my friends face the same condition I paid 320 and got nothing I want to tell that they don't give us the true and fair result

The college i study in is very good

Placement Experience:

Students from 5th semester onwards are ready for campus placements. The students from our college gets a very good college placement at a very nice company and salary. The percentage of students getting degree are 80% and my plan after my degree are to become "Company Secretary or job at SBI".

Course Curriculum Overview:

I feel the course is very rich and varied for someone from commerce background . There are a lot of subjects for students which students study in various semesters . There's even EVS in the curriculum which is wierd but also great . I feel the curriculum is a lot based on the real life there are topics related to computerised accounting, e businesses , virtual reality , augmented reality , stock markets etc etc . which are ig very necessary for today's world . Since I am just in my 1st semester I don't think I can say a lot about the improvements that can be made but I feel the curriculum can also include a little about AI as it's the burning topic of today's world . If there's a subject like EVS for commerce then I feel even an AI subject will not pose much difficulty or chaos among the students . Exams are very regular . I just had my sessional exams in October and now I am preparing for my finals which are in December

Gauhati University: A Students perspective.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This is an integrated course where i will be getting a masters degree after completing 5 years. Only tezpur university provides this course other than GU. The curriculum prepares students mainly to pursue careers in academic fields and research fields. More practical aspects can be added to provide a holistic knowledge to the students. The exams are very well planed.

Nothing influenced my decision to choose this course. I just wanted to choose this course for fun, to be honest. the curriculum rarely prepares us for real-world applications or further academic pursuits but whenever it does it would be very beneficial for the students. Held frequent inspections in the college so that they can improve themselves and the teaching method should be in a friendly and more comprehensive way. The exam timings are perfect along with the perspective of their difficulty level.

Gauhati Commerce College : A premier Institution for Conmerce Education with Evolving Opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, nothing specific has influenced me in the decision to choose this course that is BCOM as most of these student after passing shoes, so I also opt to BCOM. Well, the curriculum does not fully prepare the students for real world applications or further academic pursuits. They does not provide any practical knowledge or any kind of internship to the students for the real world. Well, according to me, they should provide some internship or something related to practical knowledge. This improvements are very necessary. The frequency and timing of exams is very low like within four months the university tries to complete the whole semester, and it's very hard to complete the whole syllabus within just four months.

I applied to various colleges but I confirmed Darrang College because this college is near to my home as compared to others . I didn't got rejection from other colleges. Improvement in Sports activities needed

I applied for EFLU (Shillong Campus), Central University of Karnataka, Tezpur University, Gauhati University and Dibrugarh University and some of their affiliated colleges like Darrang College, DHSK College and many more. I did get pass through the merit lists of Karnataka, Darrang and DHSK. I chose this college among others cause this college is in middle assam which is more safe than other parts and also have a great environment in the campus and also the college is good , and the people in it .
