3 years in SCC after 2 years of covid

The calcutta university curriculum is one of the toughest and broadest in thr nation which allows students to create a strong base from the start for national exams. After every 6 months there's a university exam prior to which the college conducts internal exams which prepares students. The final sgpa is calculated on an average of all 6 semester. Difficulty level is moderate.

For the first year the course fee(2021-2024) was approximately Rs. 22000. Admission fee- Rs 10,000. 1st semester fee- Rs. 8000 2nd semester fee: Rs 4000. For second year Rs. 19000 (3rd+4th sem) For third year Rs. 17000 (5th+6th sem) The tution fee per semester is very nominal around Rs. 2000 The rest amount is majorly laboratory fee. The college provides scholarship to underprivileged. The fees have somewhat increased with each year and demands

There's no such college festivals but few departments arrange annual festivals and anyone can participate in it. The chemistry departmental library has wide range of textbooks from foreign to Indian authors. Each book has atleast 3 copies which is convenient for students. The annual sports takes place in late December whete present students teachers along with ex students and staffs can participate. There are various clubs such as drama club, dance club, debate club, quiz club, nature club , etc run by students and they represent the college in various competitions

I applied to almost every reputed college under university of calcutta. But particularly SCOTTISH CHURCH COLLEGE attracted me for its reputation over the years. I was not rejected from other colleges. It was my frst choice to get admitted in SCC. Others were options just in case. The admission process is totally on the basis of merit. 60% seats are for general category and among the rest seats are reserved for sc/st, christisn and sports quota

There are 10 teaching staffs and 8 non teaching staffs in the chemistry department currently. The student number on average is 35 per semester. With almost 50-50 girl boy ratio. Most of the teachers are among best in the fields. Dr. Anupa Saha - organic snd green chemistry Dr. Debjani Ghosh- inorganic and analytical chemistry Dr. Aniruddha Ganguly and Dr. Susmita Kar - physical chemistry and computer chemistry. The above mentioned professor are of best in the business in the entire university . The exams are conducted by university of calcutta. The CBCS system was then followed and now revised to CCF pattern. Semester wise exams are conducted.
