Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum was pretty decent in comparison to what other places have to offer. We were introduced to all subjects so as to we can choose what we would like to do in masters. Theoretical learning was done mostly but many industrial tours and a month was given to get industry experience and write a report on it. They removed the course of International Business from my year and I wish it could come back because a lot of people like it and is a good career option. Also importance was given to business analytics and stats. Exams were twice in college and then we had to give end semester exams in another college as centre.
Internships Opportunities
The placement cell was good and there were many internships provided by them but none of them were from good reputable companies. The stipend was anywhere around 5k a month to no stipend. I took an off campus internship so I cannot tell much about college internships. They were mostly marketing and especially sales where you have to either sell loans or something to people. Telemarketing.
Placement Experience
In the last semester, students were eligible to sit in placements. Accenture, Deloitte, S&P Global, Tata and Unacademy and easymytrip are some companies that came to our college for placements. The CTC they gave was average of 5 lacs per annum. The highest was from S&P Global being 6lacs per annum. 50% students got placements while others joined their family business or are further studying. My plans are also to do a master's degree in Economics.
Fees and Financial Aid
The year wise fees as whole came to 104000/- approximately which included 88000/- tuition fees, 15000/- university fees and Student Activity Fee 1000.00 Student's Insurance 150.00 Total : 104,150.00 Bank Also, in the last year there was 2000/- more for placement fees regardless of you sitting in the placements
Campus Life
There was only two fest happened in my college life. They were called Anugoonj and were held in University Campus, it was held in October. Library does not have a lot of books and also the internet in the library computer rarely works. Librarian was also very lazy but they had very good entry/exit system. It was all online and we could only enter with our college card scanned. The classrooms were third class with a few having a smart board which also did not work. There were acs on the fourth floor but they also did not work. The blackboard was not of good quality. Overall infrastructure was really bad. The lift also worked only for a few hours. There were no sports or extracurricular activity offered. There was NSS though. I was part of UN initiative, Girl Up which entirely worked from outside but was a college club and it was really inspiring, we used to have sessions and activities to encourage gender equality and also a lot of other things. There were other societies as well.
Admission
I gave DU-Jat and could not clear it and my rank was under 3k. But i ranked 697 in IPU Cet and was able to easily take admission here in BBA. Also the admission process was smooth as a breeze, we were called to college with necessary documents and asked to fill a form already sent in advance, Then submit the document and fees slip and admission was done. For the qualification I gave IPU CET and anyone under rank 1000 will be able to get into MSI. And it also helps if you are from Delhi, you can apply for Delhi Quota
Faculty
The faculty was huge and also experienced. It was a nice experience except a few who were rude and judgemental. The faculty mostly acted like friends and did help you in your goals. I really liked Ruchika mam and Asha Mam and Arti Mam and There were good sirs as well like Vijay Dahiya. The exams are pretty easy and syllabus is not a lot for college tests But End-semester exams are comparatively tough and marking is also not lenient. Overall, the faculty made my experience at Maharaja Surajmal worth it.
