- As the academic part is taken seriously, there is no room for celebration of common festivals that other departments celebrate together.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum I am studying and the subjects I have are all relevant accourding to the course I am pursuing. There are practical applications and real life examples taken whenever we start a subject. The timing of the exams is one internal per month and its totally based on the syllabus done.
Internships Opportunities
Acmegrade, Bangalore. Bajaj Finserv etc companies like these have visited our departments for internship programmes. Invited RBI Officials and the governor held a knowledgeable conference. Mostly the management projects are offered to students after asking their interests and if they are eligible for the internship or not. As i am an u dergraduate student i havent done any internship yet neither do i know about stipends yet but great opportunities are provided here.
Placement Experience
From 5th semester students become eligible for internships and industrial trainings ans visits. Many renowned companies have visited like Accenture, Cognizant, Amazon. Officials from RBI have also visited the department. Higest package ever offered has been 1.1 Cr and average package offered has been 6 LPA. The placement percentage definitely depends upon the potential of the candidate but its usually around 80-85%. My plans after completing the degree is doing masters and then phd.
Fees and Financial Aid
I pay my fees semester wise. I am currently in third semester. I paid 31,584 in my second semester and 29,862 in my third semester including every expense.The development charges are usually around 10,000. The exam fee is around 3,000. Academic fee is around 15,000 a some university charges and portal fee here and there. My male batchmates pay a slightly higher amount than us females. There are also scholarships provided for freshers if they score higher than the basic percentage set, it is usually for SC/ST/OBC.
Campus Life
There are many events organised like Colors, Traditional Day etc. Festivals and other events are also the main happening of the campus. There is a wide range of books available in the central library of the campus. There are technical facilities like computers, white boards, projectors, auditoriums etc. There are many sporty activities like cricket, marathons, football, badminton in the campus. There are many social groups, clubs made which impact on the social, academic environment of the students positively.
Admission
I applied to ABVP, Sage University, Abdul Kalam University and Vaishnav College. I got accepted in all of them except ABVP because they generally accept SC/ST/OBC. I was in the top 50 CET rankers. I got accepted in Sage too. But I preferred government colleges over private ones and DAVV is renowned for its fine education and legacy of academic excellence ever since it has been established.
Faculty
The faculties are really good and approachable. They are very great mentors with excellence in their fields. The student-faculty relationship is well maintained. There are total 3 internals and one external and final exam. These three internals are out of 20. The score from the best 2 internals is counted and then added to the final external marks which is of 60 marks. The exam is based upon the syllabus provided which is relevant to the course curriculum as well. The exam is ofcourse above easy level but not too hard.
