What Students Say
Likes
- Academics wise, the courses alloted are great, they add up alot to the skillset of a student because each course is related to one another, like Operating Systems mapped with Linux Administration making study pattern efficient anf interesting.
- Infrastructure is pretty good and well built with greenary everywhere. Seperate blocks are alloted to each branch with great lab facilities, library, high speed wifi and a canteen for every building to chill with friends.
- The faculty holding PHD's with decent experience provide sophisticated PPT's and give a gist good enough to understand the topic to solve Home assignments, Active Learning Methods, Tutorials and Lab Practicals every alternate day followed by lecture.
Dislikes
- I said the crowd is great but its at the same time, its too much. The amount of people is so huge that things cannot terminate without waiting, patience is required to get things done in the campus, I wish there was more space in the campus.
- Rules are fine upto an extent but putting a restriction dress codes, interactions with opposite gender can be a factor that annoys, nothing wrong in that but I wish the management is a bit flexible and less rigorous on these type of aspects.
- No student unions and other social activities, the activities provided are purely academic based, I hope for a social programme and a little more freedom for students to initiate something beyond academics.
Course Curriculum Overview
The noticed how the learning takes place as I see the connection between the concepts. For example. we were taught Data Structures and Discrete Structures which helped in AI and Machine Learning with implied to Deep Learning and Data science, I'm pretty much enjoying the course and I'm finally clear abut what I'm going to do. This is sheerly because of the subjects wisely chosen by the management. Personally, I would like to have the faculty and the management encourage self learning and tests. I just want the lectures and no mandatory attendance, and one final exam, this would ease up the burden for the student and a better concept understanding leading to better engineers. Level of exams are quite tricky, not hard, TRICKY! The questions are twisted but a skilled individual might find it easy. I'm a practical and goal-oriented learner, so the course map definitely sums up to my views, I got no major complaints.
Internships Opportunities
Stipend oriented internships start from 3rd year, since i'm a second year student, I was offered few internships via my college mail though, from companies like IBM, Cisco, Nxt Wave, but these are just a course oriented, 0 credit, internships which were done remotely. However I designed my own website using MERN Stack. I might be able to provide better insights once I'm in 3rd year.
Placement Experience
Discussing stuff like this with seniors, I inferred placements start from 7th semester and go on until the end of 8th semester, that is in 4th year. Dream companies like Accenture, Cognizant, JP Morgon visit the campus in the first round of placements and Super Dream MNC companies like Google, Amazon, Meta, TCS visit the campus in the 2nd round of placements, as of 2023 the offers made by these companies were 4500. The highest package ever recorded isn 65CTC bagged by our senior from CSE branch by Google. The average package provided overall is 9.2 LPA and the median package is 8.6 LPA. KL is usually very popular for its impeccable rate of placements, its been maintaing a rate of 100% placements since 18 years. I'm of planning giving GRE/GMAT and pursue my Masters abroad.
Fees and Financial Aid
The default value of the fees per semester is 1,35,000, so that adds up to 10,80,000 for 4 years and 8 semesters, along with this, we'll have an extra amount of 50,000 to register our seat. These fees are specific for Computer Sciences. Branches like ECE, BioTech's fees might vary from 85,000 to 1,20,000 per semester. We need to be paying 2,500 for our End semester exams and we also pay for our lab workbooks which might range from 1,000-1,500. Under management quota the donation might range to anywhere from 1,50,000 depending on what branch. CSE donation might range upto 8 to 10 lacs on a whole. Scholarships will be available for students with exceptional performace in Intermediate like 90% above, decent EAMCET/JEE rank or a top rank in KLEEE (Official KL entrance exam). We'll need to pay for certification courses during 3rd year for a better scope, they may range upto 1,00,000 and the university provides placement training, the training charges might range up to 50,000.
Campus Life
Different types of fests are held thoughout the academic semsters, the odd sem fest is named "Samyak" with a registration fee of 300 rupees which is held in the month of September and the even sem fest is named "Surabhi" with a registration of 300 rupees again which is held in the month of February. Both these granf fests are held for 3 days straight commenced with Ethnic day. Each branch has its own fest every 2 months simultaneously, #include is called the Computer Science fest, other branches have these fests every 2 months. Classrooms are provided with quality decks and rocking chairs with a smart screen, projector, podium and great ventilation with fans, tube lights and open windows. We have plug points pinned under the desk which are handy during the class to charge the laptops. Clubs from various domains come together and student activity center which focus on coding, dance, acting, building and a lot more domains, we work on real time projects in these clubs and enhance skills.
Hostel Facilities
AC/Non-AC 2 Bed, 3 Bed and Deluxe rooms are provided of which cupboards, beds, pilllows, bedsheets, study tables chairs, hangers, plugpoints are provided by the management and for Deluxe, couches, tepoy, fridge, oven are provided. The menu quality is decent, with various types of food every meal. Breakfast is provided with eggs, bread, idli, upma everyday with the 3rd tiffin changing like vada, poori, dosa, bonda. Lunch/Dinner meals go by 2 different curries, sambhar, dal, chutneys, curd, chips. Idli/chapathi is also provided. There is a seperate counter for north Indians. Registration is done by paying 5000 INR and 1,50,000+15,000 for accomodation, mess charges and electricity deposit. Vaddeshwaram is a local area with a series of rented PG's which are popular for low fees where my friends shifted in 2nd year.
Admission
Firstly, I couldnt crack JEE because I belong to Gen cat, ruling out govt colleges, I applied to VIT, MIT, BITS, EAMCET. I got 25000 rank in VIT which gave me a 3rd cat CSE which costs about 30,00,000 for 4 years which is definitely a high afforability. I got 18,000 rank in Manipal exam and I got a CSE (DS) in MIT Banglore, my parents didnt want me to go outer state or a place a Banglore, I couldnt crack BITS, and thats due to lack of efforts for sure. I've been left out under management quota. My TS EAMCET rank was 40,000 which mostly gave me ECE, Mechanical branches which I was least interested in. Precisely, I was forced into this college via management quota because KLU is known for its discipline which attracted my parents, I was accepted for my Inter score of 80% and 85 JEE percentile and a 3 LAC donation for CSE, It doesnt mean I didnt like it during admission but I moved along but it turned out great. I like the atmosphere now and I coped up well, I'm finally thinking straight.
Faculty
I'm happy to say that one on one interaction is widely encouraged among our faculty, this is definitely enhancing the concepts for us. Usually, the faculty just provides the gist, we might not be able to grab the concept at once, therefore, they provide detailed PPT's and give us home assignments after every lecture, this helps us learn practically. Doubts are encouraged and will be clarified on spot. Every faculty is fine except they dont teach like school anymore. For each sem, we have 2 mid terms every 2 months and an End semester exam in the 6th month, the even semester is concluded within 3 months with mid terms every 1 month and sem exam in the 4th month.
Other Applied Colleges
SRM University | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
This is new campus established in 2017, so I had a perception that it needs more educational experience.
VIT University - [VIT- AP] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electronics & Communication Engineering)
There's no hard reason, I comparison with KLU and VIT, many recommended KLU and moreover, I've got an ECE seat out there, and for a better worth, I got CSE in KL which im aspiring for.
