Remarks
Overall, the college is quite good in virtually all aspects. The faculties are great, my peers were awesome, the labs are abundant and readily available for use, the subjects don't focus on theory only, and the management actually listens to the suggestions/complains provided by the students instead of dictating on the students. Hence, I have no complaints with regards to the college or its management.
Course Curriculum Overview
The college follows the RGPV curriculum. In computer science, there are a variety of subjects all the way from the basics like Data Structures and Discrete Math, to the likes of complex - and fun - subjects like Compiler Design, Operating Systems, and so on. Of course, the curriculum is subjective for person to person, but if one is truly passionate about learning, they'll most certainly enjoy it all. There are ample projects and practicals that require research and teaches the students how to be good at it. Overall, it helped me grow myself both - as a person, and as a computer technology enthusiast & programmer.
Placement Experience
The placement cell is absolutely great! They are very very helpful in finding jobs that tailor to the student's liking and the domain they love. For me, I got placed in 6 companies with a variety of locations and job descriptions. The placement cell and the job pool is rapidly increasing by the year and anyone with decent knowledge about their course will have no problem finding a job. The placement cell helps with internships too if and as needed. I found an internship of my liking on an online portal and the placement swiftly helped me out with all the documents and formalities without delay.
College Events
I am not a person who enjoys cultural events much, but even so, I can say that the events are thoroughly celebrated in the college. There is an annual fest called Urjotsav which incorporates everything - from technical competitions to sports, to cultural activities. There is something for everyone! Being active in at least something is quite enjoyable and doing the work, preparations and actual event give a sense of accomplishment that has no comparison. With everyone working in various activities, it still feels like everyone is a significant part of something big and whole.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The basic fees for the college are Rs. 25k per semester. For me, I did not avail any additional facilities (bus primarily) so I don't know about it. Since the college is in the city itself, it is easy enough to commute on a personal vehicle which is what I did. The college even provides books if one needs them so book expenses are negated as well.
Fees and Financial Aid
I didn't opt for any scholarship or education loan. However, scholarship options are available for the people who get good grades and who actually need it.
Campus Life
The campus isn't huge by any means, which in my books is a good thing. The reason being I can get from a place to another without wasting a lot of time traveling. The gender ratio is well balanced, especially in courses such as Computer Science. Mechanical and Civil generally have more males than females but that is pretty generic right now. People come from various backgrounds so the population is very diverse. There are various extracurricular activities and there are labs scheduled pretty much daily for all the practical exposure one requires. The computer labs are decently equipped and there are some high-end systems in place as well should anyone need to use them. I haven't dealt with many extracurricular activities but I see people all the time doing something or the other so I'd say it is indeed thriving.
Alumni/Alumna
When I joined college, there was a programming competition going on, held by seniors. I joined in and they welcomed me very well. They helped me out, guided me, and made me feel like I was not new there and hence I had a lot of fun. We talked to our seniors quite a bit, asked them for information, guidance, and such, and they were always ready to help out. Even during the time of placements, I reached out to our seniors for help in deciding the company and they responded very fast. Thanks to them I was able to figure out which company I want to go for.
Admission
The college admits students based generally on the JEE Mains score, but also provides admissions without it. I got admission without the need for JEE Mains score. The admission process is relatively straightforward and quick. I got admitted in July as far as I remember and the college commences in August.
Faculty
The college faculty promote understanding and pragmatism over pure theoretical aspects which is what I absolutely love. It also helps a lot in learning and even enjoying the subjects. They are incredibly helpful and understanding and will do everything in their power to ensure that a student understands their respective subjects. Faculties are, as a matter of fact, one of the prime reasons for me admitting into this college. When I first met one of them, I was genuinely pleased by the gentle, nurturing, and thoughtfulness of them. I'd go as far as saying that if anything, faculties here are people you can count upon to help and guide you throughout, and with whom you can make connections that last for a long long time.
