What Students Say
Likes
- The faculty is well experienced and educated most of them have doctorates.
- Lots of teachers for each and every subject and paper so there's no shortage.
- The newer labs for example biochemistry are well equipped.
Dislikes
- The city offers little to no recreation and is quiet small.
- The labs for old departments like chemistry and zoology are vey rusty and old. Many equipments don't work and need repair.
- Again the classroom for older departments are really old they have really poorly lit clasrooms that get really hot in summers.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is quiet standard. You gain mostly theoretical knowledge and a little bit of practical knowledge too. Biochemistry and chemistry practicals can be useful in real world scenarios. The zoology practicals are quiet boring and not that useful it is mostly writing assignments.
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual fees for unreserved students is 3900 including the fees for I'd cards, lab fees, sports fees, and misc. This makes total course fees of 3 years to around 11700. There are scholarships for students with less than 8lac per annum and for students from categories and students from Uttar Pradesh.
Campus Life
The campus life is average with the life outside campus being boring in a sense. The libraries are well stocked with course books. There aren't any annual festivals conducted by the college itself but there are student run farewell cum fresher's party every year which take place between December and February. There are several clubs for extra curricular activities like sports and debate. There are competitions and seminars often taking place. The sports facilities are good as well. There's a brand new basketball, vollyball, tennis, and hockey ground. And also a football and a really well maintained cricket ground.
Admission
The admission process is easy and is through CUET, I applied to other central Universities like DU and BHU but couldn't get in. This was the only central university that was in a accessible region the other ones were in Polar regions like Jammu or Tamil Nadu or hardiwar. The admission cutoff here is quiet low as compared to other central universities. The eligibility is basic 10+2 60% with the subject you want to take admission in. I had confirmed admission in Gurukula Kangri, GGU, Sindhaya University, University of Tamilnadu
Faculty
The faculty is very friendly and approachable, all of them are knowledgeable and can will help you. There are some like G.k. sir who's just very rude in every aspect while others like pradeep sir are very friendly and good at teaching. The exam pattern for science courses is annually. There are annual exams with practical exams one to two months prior to written exams. The practicals are not that hard and you can get above average quiet easily but the written on the other hand can be quiet challenging for some the checking process is really bad and sloppy. For my biology course there are 3 subjects with 3 papers each making total of 9 papers for 1st and 2nd year. Each paper is 33-34 marks making a total of 100 for each subject and the practicals are 50 each. Biochemistry is easier to score in while chemistry is the hardest. You can drop one subject in your final year based on your performance.
