- the campus here is wayy too small for a college which is something disappointing
- Grading system has too much marks set into internal and some teachers give marks based on your impression with them instead of your performance
Course Curriculum Overview
Well the curriculum is very good in GCET the subjects you study are pretty important for future and the course structure is also good not very strict in teaching methods the improvement i would like to give is to make the class interactive most of the teachers come give thier lecture and go they should instead try to speak to students more in class and have conversations about the topic and not just give a lecture and i feel the curriculum should be a bit more practical based but thats fine GTU also has similar curriculum
Placement Experience
after the degree i am planning to do MS in data science in USA i am preparing for GRE right now with college highest package offered last year was 8 lakhs and lowest was 1.8 lakhs average was around 4 lakhs and the major company hiring was qspiders
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees that i am paying is 1 lakh 19 thousand per year . My fees are fixed but recently they increased the fees by 10k rupees so my juniors are paying 1.29 lakhs per year and the hostel fees have also increeased when i was in hosstel it was 62k and now it has changed to 67k. tuition fees for management is same and for SC ST it is same aswell but they do give scholarships like MYSY and TFWS. MYSYS is a goverment scheme for people with family income less than 8 lakhs and TFWS is given according to your ACPC rank
Campus Life
campus life if you choose to live in hostel is VERY fun if you get good friends only downside is that the food is not good in taste library has plethora of books from all genres many sports event occur on campus we also have a sports club which has different indoor and outdoor sports like chess table tenis cricket volleyball football and basketball
Hostel Facilities
Right now i am in GCET's boys hostel it has 56 rooms with some being 2 sharing and some 3 sharing i am in a 3 sharing room with AC we have to give the electronics bill ourself the food provided here is not upto the mark when you will join the hostel for first month they will prepare good food and after that the taste detoriates registration is first come first serve basis except food the hostel is a good place to stay
Admission
I applied to only 2 colleges GCET and SVIT vasad because of my acpc rank being in 5000 i didnt try for any other college i got admission in SVIT but i waited for GCET and in second round of ACPC i got admission in GCET I choose this college for multiple reasons higher ranking better faculty and seniors were my friends so I knew about the faculties aswell
Faculty
faculties are easily approachable you can mail them at any time and they will answer you when they are free the faculties which i like are YAC sir and Deven Gol sir the way he teaches his subject you wont feel bored at all and you will understand those topics clearly i would prefer not to name the faculties i dont like but some teachers cant teach properly they have good knowledge about the subject but cant express it there is 1 mid sem and 1 semester end exam mid sem is pretty easy 60% of the paper comes from assignments end sem is a bit difficult to score but you can easily pass last sem only 4 ppl out of 86+7 d2d students failed in a subject
