Course Curriculum Overview
The syllabus is quite good making me choose the subject. The subjects are great for making a student ready for the outside world, in the practical field. Exams are not held frequently but has a certain level of difficulty neither is it very nor too hard.
Fees and Financial Aid
Semester fee per semester is approximately Rs.3500 along with exam fee for every semester is around Rs.500. The college runs in 3shifts. Morning only for girls, Day is Coed whereas Evening is only for boys and having only bcom option both general and honours. In case of affordability it's great. Also having scholarship opportunities and kanyashree for girls.
Campus Life
Freshers is held departmental-wise initially then in the month of December a Grand Freshers is held including all the departments all the 3shifts. NCC is offered in the college and no other such sports option is there or club or societies. A drama and dance club has been set up recently.
Admission
I did apply for colleges in the Delhi University but did not get through the college I wanted so opt for this college under University of Calcutta. The application process starts in the month of June through a Centralised Portal built by the West Bengal Government to make the admission process easy and equal
Faculty
The faculty student ratio is bad. Classes are of strength 100. Neither are the faculties friendly and cooperative in the Commerce Department atleast. The teachers from the English department are great. In a Year I got classes from 2 different english department teacher they are very good in every aspect. Very few teachers in the Commerce Department who actually solve the problem. Exams are held only once per semester starting with internals before a month or so of the end semester and followed by end semester exams held in away centre and practicals for the practical subjects.
