all the classes have air conditioners...
the teaching is not very strict ..they are friendly
there are many clubs and societies in which students can apply

Dislikes

canteen does not have varieties of good food
the college is not regular ..they are giving many holidays
students are not allowed to use the lift

i am vaishali gupta from asansol and i am currently pursuing bachelor in commerce from shri shikshayatan college kolkata. i am living in a paying guest accommodation of 4 people which is 1 km away from the college. the infrastructure of the college is good ..this also includes a school in it..the area of the school is more than that of the college. The college took 29000 rs as admission fees and will take 28000 as per semester fees ..so 1 year will be 50k+ ..i belong to general so there was no reduction in fees but i have a classmate who belongs to obc and has reduction in fees by 3000 per semester. i will also apply for a scholership in which i will be getting discount on fees per semester. The teaching staff is good ..they make things understand to students and there are also a number of co curriculum activities..students have to apply for atleast two clubs in the first year. allover the college is nice

Campus Life

there are a number of clubs and societies in the college in which students can apply to..there is sports club..nature club..drama club and many more ..students have to apply to atleast two of these clubs in the first semester ..the library has a number of books and teacher advised us not to buy books rather take it from the library.

Admission

I gave the cuet exam after 12th and had kept delhi university on first but couldnt make it there due to low marks in cuet. This college had good review and was in the state as my hometown so parents did not hesitate to send me there..i scored 357/400 in my boards which helped me taking admission in thsi college

Faculty

The teachers are very friendly ..if students do not understand anything ..teachers speak in their native language to make the students understand..i liked economics teacher and principles of management teacher ..some classes have more students ..our class has less students so the level of understanding is high

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

When canteen closed, the city opened up.

Good for studying but should improve for recruitment

The application form is available on the college website and every other detail regarding fees and application date is available there.
