Course Curriculum Overview
I chose ECE branch since its an evergreen branch. Although ECE is quite difficult compared to other branches it is useful for the future trends. The VTU curriculum doesnt prepare much for real world applications which can be improved by innovative teaching methods or by implicating its use by making projects.
Internships Opportunities
There are some good internship opportunities offered to us from the placement department. We can chose the internship topic of our interest and get work experience with some major projects. Students have to do a mini project every sem which helps us a lot.
Placement Experience
The placements in our college are pretty good. Students become eligible for placements after 6th semester. A lot of companies visit our college like TCS, Cognizant, Koch ,Capegemini, etc and also some japanese companies. This year the highest package was 44lpa.
Fees and Financial Aid
I got admission to the ECE branch at CMRIT through KCET so my yearly fee is nearly 1.2 lakhs. Through management for ECE its nearly 3-4 lakhs. ECE Engineering course is of 4 years so totally fee is approximately 5 lakhs through KCET excluding additional expenses. The fee structure may vary in coming days
Campus Life
The campus life of CMRIT is quite good. Cultura is the annual yearly fest that takes place using during the even semester. There is a wide range of books and journals in the library which is accessible to everyone. College also encourages sports there is a basketball court ,volleyball court and also a ground where students can play cricket,football etc. There are both technical and non technical clubs which encourage ones talent and passion.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel is a bit too expensive for the facilities they provide. There are 1,2, and 4 sharing rooms, the annual fee for 2 sharing was 1.6 lakhs. They provide us bed and study table in our room along with that there is wifi facility also. Some times there is are problems with washroom. The food provided is good. Also there are a lot of nice PGs around the college
Admission
I had applied to other colleges in Manglore and Banglore but due to my KCET rank i got ECE branch in this college. I am quite satisfied with this college as it is also a good college which is why i put it in my option entry. One can get admission in CMRIT by KCET, COMEDK, or Management. Cutoff depends on the course, and cast if one has any reservations.
Faculty
The teachers are very experienced and provide the best teaching. Students are free to approach them for any help or support. There are 2 internals condcuted by the college and semester end exams by VTU. Internal exams are moderate not too difficult. Its easy to pass if we attend classes regularly and practice what the faculty says.
