Mount Carmel

I chose Economics honours to pursue a career in investment and stock market. The curriculum itself includes a study on the stock market in the final year. Along with core economics, there's also maths, statistics and computer which is very well needed considering the technical advancement in every field today.

Several internship opportunities available starting from second year. Well known companies recruit interns from the college every year. The work experience gained from such internships help in further job search.

Students can apply for internships from third semester and start applying for jobs from 5th semester. Average package students from my course have gotten is 5LPA. Highest was 12LPA. I hope to land a job as an investment banker or such after completion of degree.

Amazing teaching staff who help you through everything and explain topics very well., Great campus, lots of clubs for extra curricular activities so you can build up your skills not just in education. Scholarships available according to academic achievements and credits.

There are several events hosted throughout the year. Life in Carmel never gets boring with something or the other happening every now and then, keeping in mind that it does not affect the studies of the other students.

Mount Carmel is a tier 1 college known for its high quality studies in economics as well as the high placement rate. It was my goal college from get go, hence my choice of the college. The eligibility is well above 85% in 12th boards depending on the course you want to get in. Also the PI process.

Teaching faculty is great, they teach very well and are supportive of the students if they want to start something new. Professional yet friendly behaviour. As for exams, there's your regular CIA and end sems. Education quality is very well as well as the work put in by students so exams go rather well. Correct of paper is strict which makes us prepare and learn to the best of our ability.

There was an interview round before confirmation of admission. Skill based and logic based questions were asked to test our knowledge and ability to think about certain topics related to the course we were interested in.
