Deepak's Review On Indian Institute Of Information Technology Design And Manufacturing - [IIITDM], Jabalpur

Bad thing : Till seven semesters you feel that the college never thoughts of your well or never cared for you and it all because of its strictness towards attendance, assignments or any other activities in which college administration has a role to play.

Exam Taken : AIEEE ( Now known as IIT-JEE Mains)AIR : 24000Being good at Physics I always wanted to be purse engineering in Mechanical Engineering and with this rank I left with only limited options. Either I have to Join NITs(leaving top 4) or IIITs and in terms of placement both were approximately same but NITs had 50 % Quota for Home States and that leads to a majority of local students. In IIITs there was nothing like that and all of were newly established and that leads to a good Infra and amenities. So I opted it over NITs.

All the faculty members are experts in their field and have a good research background. All of them completed their PhD Either from reputed foreign University or Top 3 IITs ( Delhi, Bombay Kanpur ). Most of them are easily approachable and like all colleges there are some whom you can't approach outside the class. If someone wanted to pursue his career in Manufacturing Sector then the Mechanical Engineering of IIIT Jabalpur is Best. Curriculum is fully manufacturing oriented along with Ergonomic design and IT part and the labs have all kind of machines that have been used in this Domain There are some machines that are available only in few colleges across the country and that gives you all the industrial experiences. There are some courses that provide you exposure to Industry through various projects and year round you can find so many live Industry projects. There is Separate Department of Design and it is one of the Best Departments in India and from that a very selective courses of design have been added to B. Tech Curriculum and these courses provides you an extra edge in industry. For the students who don't want to pursue career in Mechanical Engineering and planning for MBA. For them there are also a management courses that have been taught by Industry Experts.

IIITDM Jabalpur dedicates half year (7th Sem+ Summer )to Internship and that are of two types On Campus and Off Campus. On Campus. In this Internship you have to stay in college and have to work on a project which can be ongoing projects of Industry or the project in which professor have been working. Generally the Industry project are paid one and the stipend vary from 10k to 20k. Mostly Students who are preparing for GRE and CAT opt for these projects because of less burden and the project is been students choice. Off Campus1. Industry Internship 2. Internship in foreign University or in IIT Industry Internships: For this Internship college organizes a internship season for 6th Sem Students in which companies visits the campus and offers 4 to 5 months paid Internship and the stipend varies between 20k to 100k. They offers Domestic and International Internships. College also have a collaboration with companies who offers internship and then PPO. Internship in foreign University or in IIT Mostly the students who have plans of M. S opt for this. They apply in foreign universities with college referrals. These are totally unpaid Internships.

It varies for all three branches M. E, CSE and ECE In M. E you will get offers from PSUs and lucrative offers in manufacturing and design sector. In ECE there is average turnout but you get chance to work in core industry. In CSE placements are fabulous all the Big IT, E-Commerce and Tech Giants visits the campuses and offers good packages.

There are 3 Mega Fest organized by the Student Bodies and these areAbhikalpan - Tech FestTarang - Cultural FestGusto- Sports FestAll three fests are unique and have there own flavors. These are the Biggest fest organised in Central India. All the fest of 3-4 day durations. In Abhikalpan which is an Techno- Management fest in which all reputed college students (IITs, NITs)participates and very interesting talk session of Industrial leaders and Eminent professors have been organised. In Tarang you can have all the fun. There is every thing for everyone and you will definitely find a events which defies you outside the studies. In Gusto you can feel your adrenaline flow watching nick to nick games in Basketball, Volleyball and in Football and after spending three days in Gusto you will definitely get motivated for sports. Apart from all these events there are many year round actives going on. Every weakened at Core Lab Complex (Old Building) you can find clubs( Technical, Cultural or Social )organizing there events and students enthusiastically taking parts in it.

College has lowest fee structure among all the Institute of National Importance. Now college charges 90k for a yerar (45k for a semester) covering all expenses including hostel accommodations and Mess Bill. In this it also provides a Medical Claim for 1 year up to of 1 Lac. And the plus point is in this fee you will enjoy the same facilities provided in IITs. All the hostels are newly built and the mess is like all the other colleges not too good or not too bad just adjustable.

The campus life is unique in many ways and it is because of college's location. It is located 10 Km away from in Between Airport and Nature Reserve. In winter you can easily spot wild animals in college vicinity. The best thing of college is its night life this college never sleeps. The seamless wifi with unlimited use at greater speed make play online games. You can students playing basketball at 10 pm or playing TT at 3 am. There is no restrictions. If you want to study you can go to the library which remain opened till 1:00 am or go to the CC which have been never closed. Gender ratio is like all other Colleges. There is dearth in Mech. If you are in Mech then it is 1:25 and if you in CSE or ECE it is like 1:5.

Being a ten year old Institute it's tough to have vast alumni nexus. But the alumni we have are always available for the help of students in their career Many of our seniors are working in big companies and they are doing all needful thing for the college.
