Course Curriculum Overview
I have completed B.COM General. Loyola college is well know for this particular course and it's hard to get admitted in this course unless and until you have great percentage in 12th grade. B.COM is one of the demanded profession for job purpose. The exams are always easy to crack and person can score high if he just read one day before the exam. I had 86% when I was passed out.
Internships Opportunities
Internship are for the betterment of students. Either the students can select their internship office by themselves or if they enquire the professors, then they can provide them with a list of company. The roles depends on the nature of the course. Since I'm a B.COM student, I was working in an Auditing firm. My work was filing GST for customers, working in Tally software and also involved other accounting process.
Placement Experience
The students are eligible from the 3rd year. Many companies including Accenture, Ernst and Young, ICICI, Deloitte and so on. The highest package was offer by Accenture which is 13 LPA. And the average package is 3 lakhs per annum. The person would get a minimum package of 3-4 LPA through campus placement. In my batch of 150 students around 25+ students have placed in these companies. I had plans of pursuing LLB.
Fees and Financial Aid
These structures are for shift 1 (i.e. government aided). The application fee would be Rs.300. The first semester fee is Rs.12000 and the remaining 5 semesters fee is Rs.8,610. The exam fee would be around Rs. 750 per semester. They are various scholarships available for a student. The student can claim scholarship from government which is around Rs.2400 per semester for OBC and Rs.6000 for SC and ST. The student can also claim scholarship from the management and it will be based on the economic status of the student and Minimum it is Rs. 1000 per semester.
Campus Life
There are various club in our College. NCC, NSS, Enviro club, AICUF, LAMP and much more. Each club has its own pros and it will serve as an additional advantage in our resume. The students can also get certificate for involvement in the club activities. Those who are sportspersons, this college would be a great selection. Loyola give as equal importance to studies and sports. The students can achieve greater heights in sports field in national levels. One of my friend is an national level player and our college supported him in every aspects. Giving personalised training, taking for future events and advising on every steps of life.
Admission
I have applied 3 colleges in Chennai. 1st is Loyola College and 2nd is DG Vaishnav college and 3rd is Vivekananda College. My first preference is Loyola and I'm very much confident that I will be selected. Loyola college has a great impact in one's life. It can influence you in greater way and it will also help a student in future life. It has a reputation among the society and people. Once a person complete his course in Loyola college then he will feel proud and the people around him would praise him for being graduated from Loyola college. It is one of the top 10 colleges in India.
Faculty
The faculties are very friendly and some even help students to build good life. They advise us in many ways and it's upto us to make the fullest use of the faculty. Exam patter is simple. The student will be writing 2 Internal Assessment and 1 External exam(i.e. semester). The internal exam is for 30 marks and external is for 100 marks. The student has to submit assignment and the internal marks are Calculated for 50 and the semester is converted to 50 marks and grand total would be 100( internal + external)
