Course Curriculum Overview
I would rate 8/10 where 1 deduction for hectic curriculum of university. And 1 for attendance markings in college. It should be 85% and above to make you sit for end sem exam. 75% if having few medical conditions with proof. These is a dress code for students which is formal shirt and pant for boys and salwar for girls. No mobile phones are allowed in campus. There are more then 5 blocks in KLU and each block has its own department. Around 1 and half or 2 months later there is the first in-sem or odd-sem examination. It also have credit scores. Minimum 160 credit scores should be at the time of graduation for eligibility to get enrollment in placements. Minimum 60% is required in 10+2 as admission criteria
Placement Experience
As much as I know, college provides good placements around 80 to 90% in india as well as in abroad. Recently 2 students of our college got a placement in japan for 25 lakhs as per Indian currency. More over college provides placements in companies like Tech Mahindra, wipro, amazon and more...
Fees and Financial Aid
Total fees for Mechanical Branch is aeound 2,40,000 per year and yes there are scholarship based on university entrance which is KLEEE exam where your percent of scholarship is decided by your rank in the exam, as per that you need to maintain around 8.5+ or even 9+ CGPA to maintain the scholarship. Registration fee is 15000.
Campus Life
College is quite good but hectic. Each classes are of around 2 hours and in between only 5 to 10mins or 20mins break which personally makes me too tired by noon and can't study much. College is 100 acers land covered and for every class you need to change a floor or even sometimes a block which lead to mark you absent and it won't change. Here, its 85% is mandatory which us quite weird where other colleges atleast give 75% mandatory where we can take holidays. As we live in hostel, our home town is quite far and if emergency then it takes 1 day just to reach so even if we don't attend 2 days the percentage of attendance falls down nearby 85 and if it takes 75 then it is medical conditions.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel facilities are quite good. Hostels don't have much issues but yes have a timing where we should be in Hostel even if we want to go inside the campus in library for study. Otherwise almost everything is good in the Hostel, food, safety and things.
Admission
I had applied in colleges like LPU, SRM, VIT, MIT, KIIT and few more. I was also selected in few of them but seeing the ranking, placements, campus, opportunity, faculty and many more things which are important aspect to a student council are upto the mark. This makes a better college and as last year and now KLU has not only increased in ranks but also increased in placements. Mainly Mechanical does not have even the half of CSE placements but here it is and you can get a good opportunity to have a better placement with good package. KLEEE is the entrance examination for the admission in KLU. Admission can also be taken on base of any other State Entrance Exams and JEE scores. Admission experience was quite good as you get a personal appointed counselor who can help you all over your admissions and all your queries.
Faculty
Professors are really good in the campus. Mostly are Masters and PhD from IIT's, NIT's, IIIT's and many more. 60-40 is the marks structure for college where 60 is for internals and 40 for externals. There is In-sem and odd-sem in a year. There are 2 tests taken before end sem exam to evaluate in internals. Course handles, preference books, materials are provided by faculties or available in library.
