Course Curriculum Overview
Me personally wanted to learn about literature and writing, and Improve my own writing. About the real world applications, like for internships and freelancing etc, they do assist with placements and interviews and experiences for future full time proper jobs, and if we want to continue our own creative works, they do assist with the materials and formats etc.
Internships Opportunities
I didn't participate in internships. No information on my end I could provide. But my friends have gotten placements as editors and some even published their own works online, even did freelancing. Getting jobs were easy for them as I mentioned the assistance provided helps.
Placement Experience
From Fifth or Sixth depending on the choice and scoring of the student, we can go for placements. Basically in Third year we become eligible. We get placements as editors at some publishing houses, or teachers in schools affiliated with GLA. I didn't go for any placement therefore not my sector of expertise. Usually the people who get placements have a percentage around 75-90. Mostly the 80s. My plans after the Degree is to peruse as a writer, editor and author and freelancer, content writer. Mainly fiction.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total course fee is 182,000 of all years. The first Year is around 45k, it increases only a little in second year and the rest on final year, around 48k in the final year. Registration and seat locking fees is 5k that is cut from the main fees only. Registration is somewhat 10 thousand. There is a scholarship feature available for which we have to apply but I didn't apply for it.
Campus Life
Festivals included Freshers celebration, Farewells, Teachers day and the club functions. (We have clubs in the college where each sector has its own club, literature club, poetry club, art club, digital club, etc and they organise functions as well. There are a lot of libearies in the college but 3 are the main libraries, the ambience and environment is really good and most books are available here, those we need and also miscellaneous. Sports also do get prioritised properly, we have courts and big fields, and they ARE active very often. Badminton, lawn tennis, football and cricket. The portal is really convenient and accessible, providing most information needed. The classrooms tho (of our block) aren't as good. But the classrooms in IT SECOTOR blocks are really good, well managed and hygienic. Also with many facilities compared to my block.
Admission
I applied for CUET exams for Delhi University, but I didn't chose to go there cos of affordability. Then I applied to Sanskriti University but that wasn't finalised because of absence of course I was looking for. I did not directly apply for a college, it was either CUET exams or finally GLA. My college had a fairly easy and convenient admission process, asked for some documents like Aadhaar card, photo, mark sheets and results, then I had to give an entrance test, and submit the fees, review the bill and that was it. The cut off is very easy for my course, It's English, Even the exam was fairly easy.
Faculty
In the first year, Faculty is more than the students, but overall the students are more than the faculty members. Not all the faculty members are as friendly, some have strict checking and some have complicated teaching ways. Unfortunately the faculty I had experience with has retired or shifted, but still there are some nice members like the professor of Writing, and Food nutrition and Hygiene as an optional subject. The total subjects are 8 and exams also 8. I personally felt Psychology and Linguistics to be the hardest, classical Indian literature is also difficult.
