- The college gives placement training for its students from day 1 which is not really found in other colleges.
- The college has many awesome clubs like cyber security, coding, etc.
- The college helps its students or aluminis who want to go for masters and helps for students who want to go to abroad.
Dislikes
- There is no entrance test for those who want to get in through management quota. An entrance test would improve the environment in the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The teaching method in BMSIT&M is very good and compared to other colleges. It is very revised and very much in trend. It prepares it's students to face the real world of jobs and also encourages its students whatever they want to pursue.
Internships Opportunities
The Institue provide around 1000 internships and provides stipends with highest offered being 50k and lowest being 10k. You are supposed to do two projects a mini project and a acedemic projects.They provide registration fee to attend any competition to attend outside college but related ones.
Placement Experience
The students will be eligible to attend campus placements from the start of 7th semester. There are many top notch companies that visit BMSIT&M like major IT companies - accenture, capegemini, cognizant, HCL, Tech mahindra, IBM, Infosys, Wipro, TCS, amazon, dell, HP, siemens, adobe, Oracle and many more. The highest CTC is 46lpa and least is 3.5lpa and the averaga CTC is 7.5lpa. About 80% of students are seen getting placements even during the recession. I am being indecesive between going through placements or continuing my studies.
Fees and Financial Aid
The total amount that we would have to spend 36lakhs as i have joined through management quota. The donation was 8 Lakhs and it keep increasing as you delay your admission and will increase drastically after KCET results but it will be less if admission taken far before KCET. Every year I'm paying 6,50,000rs with miscelleaneous fee of amount 36,000rs. If you get through KCET the total cost might come up around 10lakhs. Scholarships are given for those who have poor financial background but are excelling in their studies. But for management quota there is no scholarships even if the student is a merit student or not
Campus Life
There are several annual events held in BMSIT&M but mainly the UTSAHA and the cultural fest AVISHKAR is quite famous. SEMAPHORE is a annual intercollegiate technical festival for computer science and engineering students. The laboratories are all in good conditions. There are many extracurricular activities in BMSIT&M like fashion shows, concerts and cultural fests. There are 3 main clubs which are run by students with help of a teacher and they are IEEE, Cyber Security and Coding. The alumins are invited by the club members to give speeches and help the students.
Admission
I actually had few colleges in my mind like BMSIT&M, PES, MSRIT, NITTE and etc. To be honest all these colleges are one of the top colleges in Karnataka. The reason i have chosen BMSIT&M among all these is that i have few friends who have gone to BMSIT&M and their feedback was very good and they kept telling that the college is always trying to improve itself according to the trend and always trying to get its students get job through campus selection. There is one option which is obviously through management quota. but if you want to go through other competitve exams you can get through KCET, JEE, COMEDK.
Faculty
The faculty to student ratio is 1:19. The faculties are very friendly and very approachable. I personally like the department HOD Dr. Thippeswamy I admire him so much for the knowledge he has. The rest of the faculties are damn good too. The level of difficulty in exams on a scale of 1 to 10, i would rate it a 8. The course curriculum is extraordinary and very much sufficient for a student to get a nice job.
