Likes
- Great opportunities... There are many tech events and workshops held frequently.
- Campus is excellent... Huge campus with a football court, turf, tennis court, 2 basketball courts
- Exam culture... 70 marks for internals and 30 for the end sem... This means that students have to study throughout the sem which is a good way to develop knowledge
Dislikes
- Too many assignments and quizes... There is no free time.
- Packed schedules... We cannot expect any free time in clg
- Complex clg building design... Might get lost sometimes
Course Curriculum Overview
The courses and subjects are relavent to computer science... We do use them in jobs.. there are also Open electives that we have to choose( a subject not related to our course) by our interest. There are also few subjects in the first year which I don't think are used in CSE, like Computer Workshop and Chemistry
Placement Experience
The placements in GITAM Hyderabad is pretty average. Last year the average package was around 4.5-5 lakhs per annum, whereas the highest package according to my knowledge was 32 lakhs per annum. The trend has been same for the past 4-5 years
Fees and Financial Aid
Fee structure at GITAM Hyderabad varies depending on the program and the year of admissions. For Undergraduate Programs (B.Tech, BBA, etc.) it's around 1.5 to 2.0 lakhs per semester. Transportation fee is between 20,000 to 60,000 depend on how far you stay from the clg. So the total fee comes to around 1.7 to 2.6 lakhs per sem. i.e, around 3.4 to 5.2 lakhs per year. Fee increases by around 20000 to 50000 every year(keep that in mind). The GITAM ADMISSION TEST(GAT) is an exam through which we can get a discount on the tuition fee based on the marks we get. Higher the marks, higher the discount. Students may even get a free seat if they are in the top 100
Campus Life
The Campus life is great at GITAM Hyderabad. There are a ton of clubs for you to choose from according to your liking and if you want to start a club of your own... You're free to do that is well. Events are crazy too... Pramana is the yearly flagship event of GITAM Hyderabad which is held for 3 days.
Admission
The amount of freedom we get in this college is unmatched. The facilities they provide is good... A lab for every subject... Huge campus and the events in this college are great. The boy to girl ratio is also very low which is a good thing.
Faculty
The faculty is great... They are really friendly and have good knowledge in their respective subjects. Exam system is such that we have mid exams for 30 which come under internal marks and we have an end sem which is for another 30 marks. The internal marks is for 70 marks which is generally split into 3 sections:- quizes(20 marks), assignments(20 marks) and mids(30 marks), the total coming to 70. End sem is for 30 marks... Totalling 100
