Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The academics here is pretty much overwhelming with one exam after another along with cultural activities happening throughout the year . The curriculum seems a bit off as for the first year we are thought something which would never be used by us throughout our career and also not even making us understand things . They want us to just mug up things . I believe that is they lower the content and teach us commonly to prepare for the career in first year . That should be preferred .

Internships Opportunities

4

Internship is provided by the institution with a group of students working just to simplify the process . We have OCS that takes care of this stuff . Alumini relations also participates in it and simplify the process. Even departments helps people to gain internships.

Placement Experience

4

Campus placement occurs at IIT Delhi . You can opt for campus placement for internship from the 4th sem onwards but only if you have a great cgpa or you are good in eca. After getting a degree , I also plan to go with campus placement or maybe pursue further studies

Fees and Financial Aid

For general category without any fee waiver , institution fees is 100000 per semester and hostel fees is 57k for mess and 8k for rent per semester. For people earning less than 5lakh per annum , 1/3 of institute fee is to paid and for the one with less than 1lakh per annum , no institution fees is to be paid and sc and st category also don't have to pay institution fees . Hostel fees remain same. No waiver is provided by institution based on merit

Campus Life

4.5

The culture is so good at IIT Delhi . With its largest culture fest Rendezvous happening in October . And the tech fest of IITD , Tryst , occurring in march . And various other fest of each club also occuring throught the year boosts the culture here. Library is filled with books , research papers and journals. We also have access to many ebooks and we are also allowed to ask them if we want some books to be bought by the institute. The classroom are well furnished and labs are maintained very well. Even though the sports facilites may seem at the lower side . But GC occuring annually , every hostel has high enthu for sports and every hostel has some courts which are not maintained . So no point on discussing about them . But a common ground , Mittal complex do provide somewhat better facilities in sports . Students themselves start some club here but they are not institute registered .

Hostel Facilities

2

We have given a very small room with 2-seater arrangement and a common almira and a common table . The room is small and without ac , we don't go to the rooms much . The rent is low , only 8k per sem . The mess food is okish considering other mess food , but still not as good as mothers food . Mess pricing is somewhat 57 k with some returnable deposit. Hostel registration occurs along with institution registration.

Admission

I got a good rank in the JEE exam so I just went with the flow and chose what everyone in my rank zone were choosing even though I applied to the colleges where people with better rank than me were going . But for obvious reasons , I was not given a seat there. The admission process is simple if understood . Fir get a good rank in JEE advanced examination . Then apply for JOSAA counselling and set priority order . Once you get your seat confirmed in counselling , the college has a team of bsw reps which helps you to get through the formalities after that .

Faculty

2.5

Many faculties are present , which can be seen from faculty to student ratio that is around 9. Faculties are very much approachable here . Various ways are present here to approach them like direct contact after class or in their office , mailing them , some even make groups on WhatsApp or ms teams . The course system is credit based . We have to achieve a minimum number of credit per semester . And the cgpa is decided by the weighted cg of course with credit. One has do a particular amout of institution fixed courses than the departement fixed courses and after that you can choose electives that you want to do. You also have to do non graded courses where you either pass or fail only , no grade been provided. 1 minor and 1 major occurs per sem with quiz happening throughout semester and grading is decided by profs . However he or she wants . Exams are easy if you study how professor wants you to study but difficult if you use your own brain.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
