Lucknow university review

The university is well maintained with not much politics at all. It is peace everywhere especially the sculpture department which is very calming. There are no fights at all and the surrounding is good too.

Entrance Exam

The syllabus of the university is such that it doesn't put much pressure on the students. There are 6 semesters in total. The teachers are helpful in every department, except for the physics department which is not quite well maintained.

The college doesn't itself provide internship but students could apply for it. The teachers there, help the students to get good internships and provide them with all the information they need for the future.

Lucknow University has a placement cell which I've heard from the seniors is very good does its job quite well. Students who complete their graduation don't go for jobs generally and prefer to complete their postgraduation, but the students who want to go for jobs get an average pay scale.

There are not many events celebrated in Lucknow University. Since the time I have been here, I have only seen the convocation ceremony. Before the convocation ceremony, there are many small competitions played in the university like rangoli making and drawing competition. There was once a treasure hunt too.

Being a state university, the fee structure is feasible as all the extra things are taken care of by the government and the university is funded mostly by the state government. Anyone could afford to pay for the fees here.

There are many students who get a scholarship from the university. Those who come from ST are the zero fee payers. University gives its high ranking students some scholarships which aid their studies.

There are not many extracurricular activities that I'm aware of. There is a sports department which is well maintained. Anyone could join the university band. There are NSS and NCC which is offered by different departments whose certificates add extra weight to a student's CV in the future. The labs are well maintained with all the types of equipment necessary for a student.

The hostel infrastructure is quite good but the facilities are not quite good. The food of the hostel like any other hostel is not good. Hostlers are mostly seen eating outside and not from the hostel.

The alumni association consists of many people who are doing great in their lives right now. Some people are working in ISRO even and some of them are researching in different universities in foreign countries. Astronomy is a recommended subject from my side as it is quite good and the subject is very interesting.

The exam structure is such that there are 9 questions divided into parts out of which the first question is compulsory and the students have to attempt one question out of the two questions in every section so it has 5 section in which the first section has only one question while all other sections have 2 questions making it up to 9 questions. The whole paper is of 80 marks and rest 20 are given on assignment and viva and attendance.

I got admission by giving their entrance exam whose forms are submitted online. Searched up on Google for when would the forms becoming and filled the form on the correct date. But to give the entrance exam I had to go to Lucknow because all the centers are in the city, always.

All the faculties are very good and the teachers are helping except the physics department which is not quite good and the teachers take the syllabus for granted. I and my friends had to study using books and the teachers didn't help. I'm not talking about all the teachers in the physics department but some of them are not quite good at their jobs. There is an astronomy department which is quite interesting and the teachers are very good at the astronomy faculty.
