Likes

The campus is full of greenery and scenic beauty is just waooo the environment around is peaceful
You get good friends and hostel life is fun

Dislikes

Faculty is not updated they still teach you with old methods
Classrooms are old type no proper arrangement of desks and no projector
There is no skill development programmes and so much restrictions on the student activities including cultural and extra Co curriculum

Course Curriculum Overview

Teaching methods should be changed and faculty should be motivated to adapt the new way of teaching and syllabus . For example taxation subject which is mathematical in nature was taught us orally without knowing that it is one of the main subject in the course The curriculum is of no use in real world and everything is like you are still stuck in 2000 s way of teaching

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 77000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure of the college is pretty average like 1.09 lakh per yr including hostel and scholarship is based on merit and they provide scholarships like 30% of tution fee 10% based on cgpa like one with 9 and above gets 25000 and one with 8.7 and above recieves 12000

Campus Life

There is no such fest in smvdu neither funds are released for such events .they always cancel and they are not very supportive for organising such events No classroom is well equipped . Student clubs arw of no use as same people are in each club so others dont get the chance to show up

Hostel Facilities

My room was in shivalik B as the building is new do rooms were pretty good but mess food is shit its like you are having stale food only .flies were spotted in dal so many times menu is also not nutritious

Hostel Fee: INR 47000 per year

Admission

I didnt choose this college by my own wish as i am from the covid batch so it was nit feasible for me to move out from my city so this is the only reason i did opt for smvdu for bba My admission was based on my merit on class 12

Faculty

The exams are thrice per semester 2 minors each of 20 marks and 1 major for 50 marks 10 marks internal test which can be either ppt ,assignment or quiz The marking scheme is very lenient and level of exam is moderate as they dont teach at all

Interview Experience

No nothing like that it was all merit based as i was there in 2021 which is a covid year In general the admission process is very lenient to be there so nothing to worry one can easily get admission there

IIM Jammu is a spring breaker!

Placement Experience:

Till we are doing BBA there are no placements but from 4th year we are posted directly for MBA and then the placement eligibility starts. Average is between 10-15 lakhs and many prominent industries which we have heard of have started coming to IIM Jammu. Also, placements record were nearly 96% at IIM Jammu.

In my clg all is good and I don't think there should be a need of change , if there is any we will manage by my self . And exams are of 3 hr which is equivalent to the exam .and my teachers come from far away and I respect there dedication towards us . Thats why I give 5 star.

Spmr college: a brief review

Course Curriculum Overview:

I liked bba because I've an inclination towards business and I want to start my own. The curriculum is not very deep but is enough for you to be prepared for real life and helps you to get job. They mainly make you learn management accounting, stats, operations, crm, etc Curriculum can be more practical in nature rather than theoretical. You will be having your mid sem after 1 month of college and will be having end sem after 4 months of semester. Exams are not that difficult but the marking might be.

Nice and Unbiased review of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University Katra

I have applied in many colleges and I also get seat in them but the only reason I use assembly because the college is close from my home. Just because of travelling purposes I choose this college. The admission process in our college is not very difficult. The only way to get admission in the college by csab counselling and by college internal counselling.The cut off of the branch is 60 percentile for general students. I don't get any rejection from any other colleges....Read More
