Course Curriculum Overview

4

Science and the mysteries of human body and the curiosity to learn about the human body and how things work. This course has taught me life and I can face any other course or academic pursuits so easily. There's no suggestion for improvement as it's good enough. We have exams every month be it any subject.. atleast 2 exams a month and an internal for all subjects once in 3 months. They're quite difficult where you can pass but not score merit.

Fees and Financial Aid

We have to pay a yearly fee of 1 lakh and 25 thousand and there's scholarship option based on ESIC quota and caste for students upto 50% of their yearly fee. This fee is paid in two installments a year and I've paid for three years and have to do it next year. Caution fee is 10,000 and there's no development or lab fee. Other category students pay 25,000 per annum.

Campus Life

4

Main events held here are "advaya" which is the freshers that's happen in the beginning of the 1st year's student admissions. "Bharatsang" which is an ethnic day. "Yaazh" conducted for 3 days which is culturals. These are conducted during any month based on the exam season. Library has a wide range of books and is open 24 hours. Every classroom has seats desks and a projector and mics. We have an annual sports meet "asthra " held for 3 days. Clubs include dance club Tamil club, Actors club, speakers collective(debate) etc

Admission

I chose this college based on neet marks and fee and the city. This college has an amazing infrastructure for a government college. I didn't get accepted to higher colleges because of my neet score. Neet exam is the only form of eligibility and 40% in board exams. Admission process is very simple with bio data and admission slip provided online after matching with the college

Faculty

4

Faculty to student ratio is like 1:10 in every department. We have plenty of professors and most of them student friendly and young junior doctors. The one I liked most is from community medicine department coz of their friendliness and openness. I haven't liked faculties from a certain department because they seem intimidating and non friendly. Exams are quite difficult and challenging but we need such exams to appear for the final university exam which will be hard. Student failure is very minimal around 3-4 students fail in the first attempt but eventually pass in the re exam

Course Curriculum Overview:

It deals with patient care and clinical diagnosis along with hands on training the influenced my decision to take up this course. Through ward postings, history taking and case discussion it prepares me well for my PG exams and further future pursuits. Skill based learning should be emphasised more along with small group teaching. Sometimes the close spacing of exams can be very stressful. Difficulty level is appropriate.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the course is very challenging obviously as we're studying to become doctors. it could've been better by increasing the duration of the course. our first year/ semester instead of it being for 12 months was only of 9-10 months so our portions are being pushed a little. it happened due the scam etc around neet and our course start date was pushed. the course could be made easier by increasing the duration of the course. we have exams every week which does make it easier to keep up with the portions but makes it too stressful for us. maybe instead of keeping exams on monday they could change it to saturday so we can relax and be free on sundays.

Placement Experience:

The students in their internship will get around 35000 per month excluding their mess fees, they have the option to opt out of the mess. And once they finish their internship they had to do two years bond in places where the colleges allot them and the salary for those two years will be decided by the place the person goes and itll be definitely more than what they get during internship.
