BIT Mesra - More than just a College

BIT Mesra makes the students personally very confident by making a man out of a boy and a woman out of a girl. It develops the overall personality of the students as it provides so much exposure in various fields. The fests are handled by the students which gives them a whole new experience.

Entrance Exam

The course curriculum is quite detailed and helpful for the students. In the first year, students of all the streams study the subjects from every stream and gain basic knowledge of every field. The Examination structure is divided into three categories - 1. Quiz (15 Marks) 2. Mid Semester Exams (25 Marks) 3. End Semester Exams (60 Marks)

The number of placements and job opportunities at BIT Mesra are quite high. Students here receive annual salary packages of 5 Lakhs to 40 Lakhs from various National and Multinational Companies including Microsoft, Paytm, etc. BIT provides internships to a large number of students, that too at a good stipend from third year onwards. I'm currently in my 2nd year of college that's why I haven't got any internship form the college yet.

There are plenty of events conducted in BIT Mesra all round the year. Every weekend, different kinds of workshops, quizzing and oratory events, guest lectures by reputed personalities, etc are held inside the college premises. Other than these, there are four annual fests of BIT Mesra,i.e., Techfest, Hackathon, Sports Fest, and Cultural Fest.

The fee structure is well managed by the administration and is feasible. For students having annual incomes less than 3 Lake Rupees, G.P. Birla Scholarship is provided which offers them a discount of up to 75% of the total fee.

As I mentioned earlier, the G.P. Birla Scholarship is provided to the meritorious students having an annual family income under 3 Lakhs. The scholarship is divided into four categories - 25% , 50% , 75% and 100% .

BIT Mesra has a beautiful and well equipped Sports Complex which has a Cricket Ground, basketball courts, wooden badminton courts, volleyball courts, hockey field, two football fields, 800m athletic track, and a Multispeciality Gymnasium. Other than this, NCC training is also given to interested students. The labs here are world class with machines of over 5 Crore Rupees.

Residing in hostels is compulsory for the students at BIT Mesra. The hostels here are well maintained and regularly cleaned. The food in the mess is of Excellent quality with a different menu for each day of the week.

The senior students are very helpful. There is no such term called ragging in BIT Mesra. The seniors are like family members here who help their juniors in every possible manner as they can. They also guide the juniors for choosing further career options.

I cleared the entrance examination of JEE Mains and got the admission in BIT Mesra in the counseling rounds of JOSA. I got the admission here in the 4th round of counseling of JOSA. The admissions began in the month of July and the classes started in August.

The faculty here are highly educated and well equipped with the study material. They have all cleared their P.hd. after their degrees in Engineering. They share their knowledge with the students in the easiest possible manner and clear the doubts after the lectures as well.
