Course Curriculum Overview

The course BCOM is based on the CBCS system and divided into six semesters of 3 years. There are 5 subjects each semester with the level of difficulty increasing with each semester. As a part of the curriculum, you are required to achieve the criteria of academic credits by attending seminars and nonacademic credits by doing social work. You also have to complete an internship of 1 month in the duration of the 3 year BCom program.

Internships Opportunities

Our college provides a massive range of internships and educational placements. There are campus recruitments every year. Many national and international firms like E&Y, Deloitte, PwC, and many others always have campus recruitment. They provide a minimum stipend of 5 LPA. The placements are definitely good and there is a wide range of firms and business giants coming and hiring recent graduates based on their academic and overall performance.

Many many students are recruited every year from the campus by the business enigma. They provide placements in each and every sector with each and every job opportunity.There are placements available for Marketing, Business heads, Finance, Accounting, Economics and also the arts field.

College Events

There is a list of associations and college societies which arrange programs to be celebrated in the college. Like the Fine Arts society focuses on the X-hibit, Xaverian Quizzing and debating society arranging various debating programs, Xavier Commerce society celebrates INSIGNIA, INNOVISION, X- CALIBRE, YOUTHINK, and XAVOSTAV. There is Xavier Management Society celebrate X-ECUTIVE, X-TALK, X-GENESIS, X-CONFERO etc are to name a few.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The college fees lie in a midrange neither too expensive nor too cheap. The per quarter fees are about 10,000 which comes in the feasible region for a family. There are no additional fees. Per quarter fees are charged which must be paid in the first month of the quarter.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college howsoever doesn't provide any loan facility however a student can get enrolled for the scholarship if they have one. The college accepts scholarship students nationwide. The college reserves seats for the backward and other reserved category pupils in their institution.

Campus Life

The extra circular activities are the best you can get in the state. The college has the highest range of extracurricular activities than any other college in the same state. The college organizes annual sports day which is followed by a parade by various departments of the institution with a particular theme. The college consists of computer labs, science labs, a huge field, and green benches to encourage camaraderie. The college has various seminar halls like the Jubilee Hall, RK hall to name a few.

Hostel Facilities

The college hostel is very clean and well maintained. The food quality is standard and there are sharing rooms. Each room contains at least 2 to 3 students and the food and cleanliness are never comprised. The bathrooms and washrooms are hygienic. Strict discipline is maintained and students are not allowed to enter late at night.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni to name a few are Lakshmi Mittal, Saurav Ganguly, Sanjiv Goenka, etc. There is an annual alumni fest held every year at the college and the past alumni are summoned to engage in some fun and fruitful activity. The senior students are very helpful regarding everything. They provide support and help in need.

Exam Structure

The exam is scheduled to be taken twice a year. The exam is written. The exams are held in April-May and November-December every year. The arrear students have also their examinations in these months along with their regular subject examination.

Admission

The admission process is quite simple. You are selected on the basis of your marks followed by an interview conducted by the Dean, Vice-Principal, and Principal. The college issues its admission forms and you have to fill and submit it online. When the cutoff list is out, you have to check your form no. if you are selected for the interview The dates and times are for the interview will be mentioned in the cutoff list itself. You have to take a printout of your admission form, mark sheets, migration certificate for outstation students, passport size photos and other necessary documents as mentioned in the form. The interview is quite normal and doesn't involve any elimination process. After the interview, you will be sent to pay the fees for the admission and for the first quarter who wish to join the institution. You will be provided a cyber room card and a photograph will be taken for the college id card.

Faculty

The faculty is brilliant with intelligent and smart teachers from each field. The excel in their subjects and the method of teaching is outstanding. The work done by them is commendable. They teach functionally and accordingly to the syllabus.

Placement Experience:

There are placements in the college campus in the last semester with several companies coming for interviews such as big 4 and big 6 companies and the placements are around 60000-70000 per month after the course.

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.
