Remarks

All in all, like every college Ruia, has its pros and cons. There are many areas where the college could stand to make improvements such as the conditions of various classes that are in dire need of an update. The college could also get in touch with modern technology that could help students study. But when measured out against other colleges the college definitely has an upper hand.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum of my college is up to my satisfaction. The college revises its syllabus every 3 to 4 years to keep up with trends and changes in academia. The autonomous status of college has helped to weed out any unnecessities in our curricula. The books cover a vast array of topics that a student of literature might be interested in. The exam procedure is not exactly to the best of my liking. It is rather very rigorous and stresses widely more on sticking to the text back than actually testing the creative and literary side of the students.

Placement Experience

2

This is one area that the college falls back in. No, my college doesn't provide internships to students of my degree course. Though it does not itself provide any kind of internships to students the name of the college itself helps students go far in outside job placements and the letters of recommendation from teachers help too.

College Events

5

Ruia College has an array of college events and a rather famed annual college fest. The various departments in the college are constantly arranging events that relate to academic as well as extracurricular activities. E.g..Science Quizzes, Literary discussions, dancing competitions, singing competitions, themed college nights, Saree and tie day, Prom night, Traditional day, Folk dance competition, Street dancing, etc. The college fest -Utsav Aarohan is famous for its week long celebration and brings in lots of students to participate in its various above mentioned events as well as events like modeling competition, makeup competition, Cooking competition, entrepreneurship skill test fest, etc. All in all, Ruia leaves no stones unturned in planning events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Ruia Is a government college and is hence is very feasible when it comes to fees. There is also various merit based, need to be based, and caste based scholarships that further help students unburden the financial load. My first year fees in total have not crossed 5k.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are a few need based, merit and caste scholarships for its students but these scholarships are given very selectively and most students are unable to reap the benefits of such scholarships. The college does not provide any loan facilities for students.

Campus Life

3

There is no shortcoming when in regard to extracurricular activities. The college has a huge badminton and volleyball court. It has its own boxing ring. The labs in Ruia are huge and are 3 in total. Ruia has a huge sports presence and encourages all of its students to take part in sports. It also has a well maintained auditorium for students to indulge in dancing, acting, hosting, singing and theatre.

Alumni/Alumna

Ruia has a big alumni network that has been known to give back to the college generously. Sometimes meet up between the students and famous alumni are arranged so as to help the current students with their academic journey in our college. As for the senior students, there is a strong link between them and us due to the existence of clubs such as the Rotaract club and the Vpm club and are extremely helpful if you take efforts to maintain close bonds.

Faculty

4.5

Ruia has a more than sufficient faculty. The teachers are extremely intelligent and have a certain style of teaching that is useful to all types of students. They are always eager to help its students and help in bringing out the creativity from one's inside.

Quite substandard and below average. Prioritised rote learning over critical thinking. Just a rubber stamp for a degree. No actual education ever took place. Exams were anually or bi annually. Exams were difficult if you cannot write 30 pages in 3 hours.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculam is designed for all round development of the student and to make that person an expert in that field, these aspects influeneced me to choose it. Very well, with extra paper of real world application on each subject it ensures that we take something from the course and become industry ready The teachings methods and cirriculam are excellent I don't think any changes are required Exams are all year round, every month and are extremly difficult to deal with, as Xavier's bar is very high.

Yes, there is no specific place where we get to know that whether the college is open or not on a specific day like the day which has been declared closed by the government. The college doesn’t provide this facility for us. We have to move all towards our home to the college to get this thing.
